Got a nice coating of the white stuff here. And snow, too.

There's now a morning diagram that consists of 2x159s and 2x158s together (between Waterloo and Salisbury, where it splits). Don't bat an eyelid at the 12 car Desiros, but a 10 car Sprinter set just looks odd to me :|

You think that is odd , try a 12 coach 455 now that would get your eyes rolling.

Wasn't all bad today, managed to go photting at West Ruislip(although the WSMR got held up by 165033 which in turn got held up by 165014 because it was running 10 late, so no mega hellfire skip thrash!)

A few 73s have been out today, mainly on de-icing duties though. 73201 top and tailing a NR GLV with 73208 and snowplough fitted 73212 with another NR GLV. There may have been others.

Do you know if they came round my way at all,:D Well the snow has stopped now but about 30 mins ago it started to rain but that has stopped now the moon is out now  so its going to be a cold night :D Good thing I am not getting up in the morning to all that Black Ice !

Lots of snow in Cornwall. We are very unprepared for it though, no schools open and the whole road system is in chaos.

Ye know...I had been hearing what sounded like four Sprinters working together recently (Although I didn't have line-of-sight to the BSML to check) and I thought that it might just've been caused by the sound echoing as it went from the line to where I was standing!

Ye learn something new every day. 8)

I'm sure that I've seen plenty of those going into and out of Waterloo over time. Given that they are multiple units and 12-cars is generally the maximum length for a train in the SR network, I wouldn't consider that odd at all. :)

I do often wonder though why MUs can't be linked together in longer formations though...If a 450 can be run three-up to make a 12-car train, then presumably a 444 could be run three-up for a 15-car one. Also, why not 10x 444s to form a 50-car train? <D

Heard on the First bus radio no buses are running in southampton, and possibly the fareham/gosport area if it snows more today. So that = no bus home for network rail.

all first cymru buses are now off the road as i just got hoime after driving for 2 hours, just about managed to get back to port talbot with the blizzard conditions.

at the moment all trains from swansea to/from cardiff are at least 20-30 minutes late.

aparantly there are no trains on the heart of wales line.

I have actually seen a 3 x 450 at Southampton Central, but regrettably running ECS.
Hmmm...We see those quite a bit around here, especially on morning workings into London. Also, the weekend workings from Waterloo > Basingstoke/Alton often run 12-cars long, with the front eight being disconnected at Woking running to Basingstoke, and the rear four proceeding to Alton. :)

And a 450 + 444 or 444 + 450 is too common to note.
Not around here it isn't! I've seen one such working in Aldershot before, which was running ECS to Farnham yard.

Looks to me like SWT North run on completely the opposite practices to SWT south... <D

Before NOW, there has not been any significant snowfall in Bangor, but at the moment its blizzard conditions, and it really is cold!

Also we've had snowthunder, just before the snow started!
