68026 to 68034 have also been named.

  • Nautilus. (68026)
  • Endeavour. (68027)
  • Splendid. (68028)
  • Destroyer. (68029)
  • Enterprise. (68030)
  • Excelsior. (68031)
  • Patriot. (68032)
  • Courageous. (68033)
  • Victorious. (68034)

must have missed HMS "Oxford Flyer" ;)

I thought DRS denied they were named after warships/submarines. Not all of them work as warships: Evolution, Excelsior, HMS Defiant was a film , HMS Titan was a tiny harbour defense ship, HMS Brutus was a Q Ship, Destroyer is a ship class etc while others have not appeared in the RN roster for years. Either DRS have a naval expert on board or they have simply chosen "strong/trhusting" names.

However lots of them work as Sci fi series/films space ships. Perhaps they should be a spaceship class LOL

PS lets see who names Enterprise. Patrick Stewart comes from Mirfield doesn't he?

Well the carriage in the pic looks ok so far, and it will keep all the Loco Hauled lovers Happy, and we will able to have a direct comparison between an AT300 and a modern Loco Hauled Train.

Actually without the lapel mic it was interesting to hear the difference between inside and outside noise-wise - it seems they might be very quiet (though it's not a very good test).

Good to see this video! On the 5A routes, is 5 coaches the max for loco-hauled or could 6 be used?

I meant specifically about whether they would fit on the platforms, would all the TPE North stations allow more coaches?
Within the core (LDS-MAN/MCV) there doesn't appear to be any major hindrance to extensions if needed. Huddersfield P8 might be a bit awkward due to curves, and P1 would need a bigger extension than it appears due to losing some at the West end when the Penistone line bay gets extended to 60m+.

Chester le street, Seamer, Warrington Ctl, Liverpool Sth ParkWay are all 5 car, Yarm is 3 car. All other stations can accomodate 6. Pushing for 7 will require a lot more platform extensions or ASDO -which these trains will be capable of - Dewsbury, Thirsk, St Helens Jn, Newton Le W, malton, Garforth and birchwood would all need extending.

It was an EMU wasn't it? But yes I agree they look smaller than I thought.
I didn't think they looked overly small, certainly not Pendolino-size. They do look to be set lower on the bodysides than normal (the usual caveats that photos of coaches in plants can be deceptive apply here) which may be a good thing: larger overhead racks and a less claustrophobic feel for the younger or shorter passenger.
