Am having difficulty getting this to work. My iPad has transferred two files from the above link onto Goodreader, an .exe and a .zip. I can't seem to get the .exe to work. What should I expect to see and how do I get the system to run?

It's not compatible with iOS, .exe files are windows executable. This will only work on windows based computer/system.

I'm not sure I follow you? If you are asking about another software like this... this is the only free software I am aware of.

This generates SCAAT sheets (you can print) or you can practice on your PC.

I was consistently getting 0 errors and 0 omissions, getting about 10-11 lines down on each page, with a row fluctuation of about 2.5. I got an enhanced pass last month with EMT.
Try to use paper printouts for your practice, as this is what you'll likely be using on the day. Print off 5 sheets, and give yourself 2 minutes for each sheet. You want to strike-through from top right to bottom left, every group of '4' dots. Make a 'cross' for the ones you mark by accident, as you would do in the real test.

Aim for accuracy rather than speed.
Speed will do you no favours if you start making mistakes or missing answers.
Only work on speed when everything else is spot on.

RSSB driver testing standard, as far as I know, still requires dot test to be done on paper sheets.

Tried slowing down a bit and seemed to get a bit further down each sheet in the time available. No incorrect ones marked but a few valid targets missed. It’s only the second day I have been doing these, and already a slight improvement, so that’s good.

Hi, you can create a virtual machine on your Mac, please research further to gain an understanding of running dual environment...you can use the following:

1. Apple's Boot Camp. ...
2. To run Windows in a virtual machine within OS X, use Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox.

Downloaded this previously on a laptop n it's fine.
Now trying to run on a netbook with a max resolution which is below the recommended n can't alter it. Any fix for this or is it a 'pinch the kids laptop' job?

Hi there Danny,

Your objective is to highlight patterns of 4 dots as quickly and as accurately as possible, whilst maintaining a consistent level of performance throughout.

In terms of controls for the software, use the right arrow key to scroll across, and up arrow key to ‘mark’ a group of dots.
The left arrow key will allow you to go back one space (only).

As the actual test is paper based, I recommend printing some practice papers off to give you a more accurate representation of the actual day. Use 5 sheets and give yourself 2 minutes for each.
In the paper based test, you strike-through your groups with a ‘/‘, and if you happen to notice you’ve made a mistake, strike-through again to make an ‘X’.

In my practice tests, I was getting about 10 lines down, with a maximum of a couple of errors/omissions across the test, and a row fluctuation of about 2.6.
I passed the actual test to East Midlands Trains’ Enhanced Standard.

If you’re finding you’re making a lot of mistakes, just slow down until you stop making so many, and work from there.
Accuracy and consistency across the sheets is key.
