Really liking the new livery in general. I think the older one was still really good but was becoming a bit old. The black window surrounds improve the livery.

The train I caught this morning from Preston to Lancaster was in the new livery.

When will the Super Voyagers be repainted?

No idea to be honest, I thought bombardier would have it in the refurb plan from when first introduced. A date of 2021 rings a bell for how long VTWC have them but don't take that as definite. Sure someone will know better.

390005 noted as in the new livery today and with the black stripe down the windows which i different to the others.

Does anyone know why the change to a black window band on 390005?

Are the completed sets going back to Widnes to have the band added?

Also, do we have an updated completed livery list with an order of the sets to go in from now on? There was a post at the start of the thread but the order of repaint seems to be well wrong.

Because the plain white version was possibly the most ugly attempt at a livery since, er, I don't know, the 1990s FirstPurplePinkPuke(f) "old bus" colours or something?

Could they not determine that from the artist mock up or from the first unit that was done?

I actually liked the new Pendolino livery without the window masking, but it does like nicer with it. I agree on comments though that the matte finish doesn’t look quite right but the overall design is better than Azuma. The Azuma livery seems a bit too busy.

The only reason the Azuma livery looked busy was because it was intended to be! It was a one off marketing livery to promote the train. Therefore it has a bunch of text on it to mention that it's coming in 2018, also DfT and Hitachi wanted their logos on there too.

I wonder now what the plan will be when the Azuma launches as the shortened VTEC franchise will finish in 2020 and it's likely that not all of them will be rolled out at that point.

Will the Azuma sets get a more half-arsed livery like the Pendolino where only the ends have any colour or will they still go ahead and create an amazing livery? Anyway, this is drifting off topic...

How many have been done now then? I really want an original livery when I go to Glasgow in January!
5 Sets have been done so far, 390010/390006/390009/390005/390016 in that order. 16 came back into service last week.

Erm. I’m going because I can get return weekday first class tickets for me and my dad for £110. My brother @TheAdelante found a cheap ticket in the sale and is now coming along too! No particular reason apart from to enjoy first class. I’ll be doing some ScotRail bashing too!
You'll have to upgrade your avatar to one of you in first class ;)

Saw one of these in person recently, and crikey, what a mess! Looked awful sitting next to a proper liveried one.

I also saw one with the window band restored, but it was still a very poor looking livery, even if slightly better. Disaster lol.

All these new liveries do is make the original one look better! I seriously hope I get original liveried pendolinos when I go on them next week!

Not really an issue if you’re sat on one, is it?

Still, what’s the saying? Ah, that’s it: you can’t polish a turd.

Putting leather seats in has ruined them? Making the seats 3 and 2 instead of 2 and 1 or putting vinyl floor in, I could understand 'ruining them' but it's just a different seat cover.

Well I've seen the V.Voyager first class and the seats reminded me of that on Ryanair... so I wouldn't say he was too wrong.
