I don’t see the point in them introducing the flowing silk livery for it to then be re-liveried into Avanti’s new livery very soon after.

The Flowing Silk livery was temporary, the trains needed repainting as part of maintenance and since the franchise was up for renewal a base white scheme was chosen. Virgin then added the red flowing silk at the ends so their identity remains but could be easily removed should they lose the franchise

390156 is already back out. It was noted at Birmingham New Street at approx. 1430 on Thursday 5th December

Yes 390156 was back out in plain white livery, it was also photographed on 5th December. It's now back in for re-livery to Avanti West Coast and be placed an embargo until Monday, when it will be unveiled at the launch and then run the 1Z17 10:33 London Euston to Glasgow Central launch special.

Who would do a official launch on a Sunday? That is NOT a full business day you know :D

So your saying it was like an undercoat for the new livery?
