Oldham 5-1 Northampton :o:p

This match could easily been call off due to heavy snow fall in Oldham but ground-staff did good job keeping match on and Oldham players award them with five goals and sound like Oldham fully deserve victory. Also first time since Jan 2014 that Oldham scored five goals in match. :D

What's been going on up in Scotland? Too much whisky for Fort Bill's goalie perhaps?

Brora Rangers 16 Fort William 0
  • Williamson (4'minutes, 69'minutes, 87'minutes),
  • MacLean (14'minutes, 77'minutes),
  • Brindle (17'minutes, 56'minutes),
  • Mackay (23'minutes, 25'minutes, 40'minutes, 88'minutes, 90'minutes),
  • Sutherland (28'minutes, 42'minutes),
  • Lisle (75'minutes),
  • Pickles (82'minutes)
SIXTEEN

In leagues where there is no fear of relegation, you sometimes get a team like Fort William which is hopelessly out of its depth. Huyton RLFC was another. Rugby Union is talking about ring fencing its top division and could end up with a similar problem.

In many ways, it would have been better for Bradford to have been relegated automatically from D4 in 1967 rather than get worse and worse and have to be booted out at the re-election ballot box in 1970. We would then have had a chance to rebuild and try win our place back on the football field. As it was, the FL were never going to re-elect us however well we did with another struggling team across the city in Manningham (who would have gone out of the league before us in 1966 had automatic relegation applied).

Manchester Premier Cup

Hyde United 5....West Didsbury and Chorlton 2

The visitors from another league made their presence felt well and were not overawed by having to play this round of the cup on a Tuesday night under the floodlights away at Hyde. However, Hyde are on something of a scoring run of late and five goals in this match meant they have scored 15 in the last three matches played.

Defeat for the Villa puts a dampener on our promotion chances but at least Blues fans can claim they're the strongest team in the league

Fair point at Keepmoat Stadium from sound of things and nice to see Doyle getting back onto scoring sheet.

Bit of a turn up at Tynecastle today, as Hearts hammered Celtic 4-0 to bring to and their 69 match unbeaten run in the SPL.

AKA pub league team beat slightly less pub league but still not very good in the grand scheme of things team in a pub league that that the same side will win no matter how long as football exists. ;)

Evo Stik First Division North

Hyde United 3... Scarborough Athletic 1

Another top-four match to test Hyde who reacted well to the conditions and scored twice in the first 14 minutes then held their own for the remainder of the match. Still in fourth place. only one point behind the teams in second and third place, with games in hand over them.

Why did I make the stupid decision to support my local club when I was 4.

York's struggles in this tinpot league continue after a 3-2 home loss to Blyth Spartans. Not kept a clean sheet since 9th September. We play bottom team North Ferriby home and away next week, nothing short of 6 points acceptable

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Ipswich Town: 30,219 at another Sold-Out Molineux and the 1 goal was more than enough to continue that quest, of which we now stand 10 clear of Derby in 3rd!

Gainsborough Trinity 3 v Darlo 1

Sigh. 1 point in 5 games, in the bottom three. Next 3 games: Harrogate, Salford & York. Going down.

35000+ saw Leeds grind out a 1-0 result against Hull. Pretty happy with how our relatively lightweight and international team are starting to adapt to this division.

Hull were actually quite good to be fair, Dawson in particular being immense. Their keeper kindly gifted us a goal (required a great finish from Hernandez). Another clean sheet, and we’re back in the play-off places although there is no room for complacency as there are quite a few teams hot on our heels.

Burton Albion away next up.

An Albion supporting friend of mine who lives in Coseley says he is having trouble sleeping at night as all he can hear is the sound of creaking floorboards. He reckons it’s the sound of lots of Dingles coming out from underneath them

Mixed fortunes for the clubs at the bottom of the Scottish Highland and Lowland leagues yesterday.

Hawick Royal Albert picked up their first points of the season with a 3 - 2 win over Dalbeattie Star.
Fort William weren't so lucky, losing 4 -3 at home to Lossiemouth, and remain on one point this season.

Just back from watching Dover Athletic come back from 2-0 down to draw with Maidstone.

York and Darlington fans slightly happier this evening?
