No, the vinylled green that was applied over the top of the quite tasteful "Merlin" green when FirstGroup took over. I liked Dynamic Lines, one of the nicest rail liveries ever and a real shame it wasn't applied to buses too.

What fag packet is that supposed to resemble? Rothman's? I suppose to be accurate these days it would have to be drab olive with a diseased lung on one side and a warning about impotence on the other.

I never quite worked out which one, it is a bit Rothmans-esque - but it just looks a bit like a generic 1990s fag packet.

Edit: yeah:

Ahh yeah remember this one well. Although I do like LNR's livery a lot better than that one myself.

A few posters raised the question why aren't they painting any scuffed sections of black on the end corridors. Presumably because this involved only a re-vinyling of the train, no painting at all is occurring when these go in for the re-vinyl? A re-vinyl may or may not involve Siemens, but painting probably would need to be done by them although I'm not sure?

A quick rather crude edit I did, adding a grey line to the bottom side of the coaches, as they have on Abellio Greater Anglia MK3 Livery. Can't tell if its an improvement or not? but it seem to give more of a focus on the horizontal rather than the vertical which does make the coaches look slightly narrow in length on the original.

Not sure I like that. Removing the corridor connection diagonal stripes, and maybe shortening the window stripe to add a light green stripe joined to the cab diagonal might work, but it'll still be drab compared with the LM livery. Just like the rather unimpressive TOC itself.

Maybe the livery would look better with a full black window stripe from end to end on every coach? (barring the dark green bit which adjoins the cab at each end, and the doors).

In my view its annoying that it doesn't say on the door:
Operated by West Midlands Trains
An Abellio, Mitsui, and JR East company
Thats only because I am an enthusiast, the every day commuters wouldn't care.

170507 can be added to the tango list.

Also a start has been made at Hamstead station on tangoing it.

I quite like that! All it needs now is a full yellow front end  I remember seeing a photoshop edit where they've kept the original LM style yellow where it curves around the side too.

Considering that its a 350/2. I think this must be the temporary LNWR livery

One plus is that for trainspotters there's a good variety of different liveries out there between LNR and WMR! Nice bit of variation.

It seems they can't decide on which livery they want. Hopefully it'll all smooth out in the near future

Nah, it does seem like they have it set in stone now. Purple and Orange for the 172s and any new stuff/stuff that's staying, then the half repaint one for any ex-LM stuff that will be leaving the franchise.

Yeah, I guess. It's just that there isn't one uniform livery between classes. Will the original livery 172 stay the same or is that due repaint?

Removing the large 'W' logo, a slight bit of the light green and adding a grey Abellio Greater Anglia style grey band...
The more I look at this the more it seems it looks a whole lot better once the large 'W' has gone...

I prefer the temp liveries over the permanent liveries. I saw 170508 a while ago. It looks better than i thought when it's only a temporary livery. :'(
