Well no-one will be more pleased then me if things happen sooner, however I'm sure the franchise is up for grabs and was supposed to be awarded by now, and that must surely have an impact on recruitment?
That may have something to do with it ...just have to wait and see I guess

Ive been asked to attend an assessment day at the end of next month so I’m guessing they’re starting to make a move on this round of applications.

The franchise has been extended until June, that being said, the "winner" has to be announced by March from what I have heard.

I received an email in the week saying I’d passed the sift and would be contacted for an assessment date shortly

Did you receive an email from them previously saying that you've past the screening process? Or being invited to an assessment day is the first email from them after submitting the application?

I applied for Dartford. Done the application and received an email saying I’d passed the paper sift in November. Then received the assessment invite this month.

The same as all the other TOCs as far as I know and there's not too much you can prepare for other than the Group Bourdon (there is a sticky thread about it). If you get selected they should sent you a PDF with all the info you need about the tests

Charing Cross is one link.

Traction:
465/466, 375, 376

Routes:
Charing Cross/Cannon Street - Tunbridge Wells
Gravesend all ways (via Greenwich, Woolwich, Sidcup, Bexleyheath)
Hayes
Victoria - Orpington via Herne Hill
Victoria - Dartford
Crayford Spur
Erith Loop
Grove Park depot
Slade Green depot

Charing Cross lost Gillingham work when it went over to Thameslink.

There's loads of drivers leaving Charing Cross so should be quite a few vacancies.
