Today's Edinburgh Evening News has a story concerning a driver being sacked for having a mocked up picture of Richard Hall dressed as a medieval jester captioned " Mr Hall enters the boardroom with another bright idea"

Good banter at all but honestly if you post something like that online (closed group or not) it is unfortunate you will get bit on the a*se for it, it’s sad the driver got sacked but sadly social media is a curse.

But if as a manager you miss handle an item such as this then it can backfire spectacularly.
A quiet word would probably have let it pass quietly instead of now being splashed all over the papers.
It then leads to questions about the managers judgement and your back to a possible reason a member of staff put it up in the first place

This problem doesn't just concern Lothian All bus groups are known for there petty, unmodern ways behind the scene.

I've rarely ever saw management with a smile on there faces, almost as if there management training courses have taught them to be stuck up fanny-packs(I mean bum-bags of course)

I worked for 25 years in a company where everybody around me was promoted to a grade above me. Not only did my face not fit but I was too clever for them
Years later a friend's death led to a phone call and I revealed something I'd found out in my private life long after I left.
I've heard nothing since!!!

Further rumours now that due to the “harsh” management style currently being encountered in Lothian Unite are about to ballot on taking industrial action, it is sad that items like that above as you say can’t be handled more sensitively.

It is a tinder box in some places just waiting for a match!

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman....s-in-propaganda-blast-to-union-reps-1-4879991

BOSSES have enforced a communications blackout on union reps at Lothian Buses as relations continue to disintegrate. All four Unite officials turned up for work on Monday morning to find they were unable to send private emails or access external websites from their computers. Meanwhile, a source told how drivers were bombarded non-stop for four days with “propaganda” from management on TVs in communal areas. READ MORE: Arthur’s Seat Fire: Firefighters continue to tackle the blaze “It’s like working in a dictatorship. It’s just so petty,” added the source. The Evening News reported last week how Unite leaders warned that a “hostile” management culture at Lothian Buses risks leading to strike action, leading managers to broadcast their policy “with regards to the grievances raised in the media.” All three union reps and their chairman then had “restricted access” imposed on their computers. And the Evening News understands that managers barred reps from attending crisis talks yesterday afternoon with council chiefs - though senior Unite officials did attend. Regional officer for Unite, Lyn Turner, said the union was “very disappointed” with the actions of senior management, adding: “Make no bones about it, unless management at Lothian buses take their side of industrial relations seriously, they will have a dispute on their hands.” The union claimed last week the company had been “dismissive” over workers’ concerns about bullying and harassment. It said there had been a breakdown in industrial relations between the company’s management and workforce. Mr Turner said he recently had to stop around 30 staff at Annandale Street walking out over management treatment. “We have been trying to keep the lid on this for several months and we were hoping management would see sense and come round the table.” A spokeswoman for Lothian said: “We always keep our employees fully up to date and communicate with them directly, so following the media coverage last week all our internal communications media screens carried a timeline of the relevant dialogue between Unite and the management team at Lothian to ensure there could be no ambiguity or miscommunication.”

The version on the wix site is vastly out of date and I've been working abroad. I'll be updating this when I arrive home mid March.

Attached is a subsidiaries fleet list. But no main fleet fleet list unfortunately.

1063 route trialling out on the 44 route just now. Just seen at Juniper Green. I guess this means some of the new buses will be seen on other routes.

That additional coach is the one that was supposed to be in last months transfers but didn't transfer due to mechanical issues. Takes the levantes up to 6.

One thing I have noticed is that service 31 is almost entirely comprised today of buses in the 351-380 fleet range. It's not unusual for the 31 to get some but not that many. None of these buses are operating on the 16 today and normally several can be found here. Might be nothing in it of course as it is just one day but I am wondering if this was in preparation for the new buses starting.
