You tend to work 8 hour shifts, most the staff start at 9pm +10pm. But there is the odd driver coming on at 1800 1900 for a night shiftCheers what start and finish times would that be?
When I did the DM interview, I found it a lot less stressful than I was expecting.
Yes, it’s all structured, and the DM’s won’t give anything away about what they think of your answers, but they will try any make you as comfortable as they can.
Just keep to the STAR format as much as possible with your answers. This will help you keep your answers detailed and concise.
Good luck!
Does anyone have an idea as to how many people get through to the DMI?
Supposedly 500 people sat the Stage 1 testing, but I can't imagine they will interview anywhere near that number - interviewing is a lot more staff-intensive than supervising rooms full of test subjects!
Hi Dynamonic,
Can I ask what kind of questions you had, if you remember.
Is it along the lines of “can you give us an example of a time you completed a task along side policy and procedure?!”
The interviews are competency based but I can’t find the competencies they assess against anywhere!! Any help greatly appreciated!

I was there on the 3rd as well, this Friday will be 5 weeks, i was considering emailing but wont bother if you didn't get a reply.Good evening,
I went for my DMI on the 3rd May for the depot driver role, was told at the interview I would hear back within 2 weeks. I’m still waiting for a reply back. I emailed last week with no response. Is this because of the recent trainee driver roles being posted? Not sure if anyone else is in the same situation.
Thanks everyone, Nathan
I guess it’s nice to know it’s not just me then, thanks for the replyI was there on the 3rd as well, this Friday will be 5 weeks, i was considering emailing but wont bother if you didn't get a reply.

Hi all, I had my interview on 28th May, found out today I have passed!! See you at stage 4
How long was test? time wise, is it something you log in from home onto a online link to do this?@Justy that makes sense. I have the relevant GCSE qualifications at c and above anyway so hopefully that will be enough?
@Diesel08 jts all collective data questions there are graphs and and data and the answers are all in front of you. The hard part is working out which is the right one.
Got to stop stressing about this process and getting worked up. I’m putting the effort in as I’m sure we all are around all other commitments and responsiblitys. I want this job as much as anybody I can guarantee that, but I need to keep in mind that worrying about it will solve nothing.
Good luck to everyone on Monday am and pm and everyone else at some stage of the process for that matter.
See you there on Monday morning I’l be the bloke hobbling around (latest football injury)
Hopefully the group assessment is t a bloody baton race!!

Would anyone happen to know if there is car parking available at the training academy in Derby or does it work on a pay and display system? Thanks.
