Probably fitting the 150/2s in when they can and depends which service they have before they go for refurb. Sure there'll be an exodus when more 195s/331s enter service for PRM mods.
With 225 when I was on it last week it's still got the ancient silver square door buttons so it's a possibility that that's got something to do with it as surely those are harder to get dispensation for than the yellow LED ones.

Just on 150272 and it's now had the refurb extras, USB ports, CCTV, additional advertising screens at the driving cab ends of each coach and wi-fi.

It looks like an ERTMS cabinet to me.

That's what I thought - but what need do Northern have for that? It's only been installed on the Cambrian line and there is little sign of it going in anywhere else any time soon other than HS2 on which Class 150s aren't exactly going to be the usual fare.

Has it perhaps got the racking for the wifi/PIS equipment in it or something?

I presume its something electrical with the cut outs it's got presumably for air intake. Seems odd though as tfw 150s have the same electrical USB, pis and CCTV equipment without the need of them

Do the advertising screens that are being installed in the 150s show next stop information like the 331s and 195s

They appeared to have those cab end PID/advertising screens installed on a 319 I travelled on yesterday but were not yet being used. Sorry, didn't catch the train number.

Just had a run out on a fully refurbished 150 (237?), complete with WiFi, PIS, USB sockets, moquette seating etc. I must say I was actually reasonably impressed, though a part of this could be due to the unusual-for-Northern cleanliness of the train. Any hope of an improvement to cleaning schedules after the refurb programme is complete?

I doubt it, the 195s are already starting to get mucky in places, most notably where the table joins the sidewall (just needs a runthrough with a toothbrush or vacuum cleaner attachment).

Bovine incursion means that 870s move hasn’t got past Blythe Bridge and damage to a 153

does anybody have any new photos of the ex scotrail 158s in northern livery or interior refits as it will be good to see the difference as they were really grubby and scruffy inside
