Northern Pacer Withdrawals - Info?

I didn't hear about this at the time, but looking at the photos on BBC news it appears to be a class 143 involved, not a 142, from what I've seen the unit is still in service as it was only a minor fire.

Possibly the last to be withdrawn? Evolution 144 012, was on the 15.15 Sheffield - Leeds yesterday. Now the 142s are being counted out it will be interesting to see when the first 144s begin to follow.

I'm curious as to who drives all these Pacer moves particularly those off lease.
Must be difficult to find drivers with both unit and route knowledge for such long trips.

ROG or even Freightliner drivers most likely. A few moves to Barrow etc for temp storage have been by Northern drivers.

That’s the place. I think the track has been installed purely to support the pacer. The ground is pretty boggy at the moment...

GBRF and Freightliner are running the moves. There have been a few ROG paths however they all got cancelled

Today’s 06:39 gascoigne wood to Kingsbury was cancelled however I don’t think that was intended to run as there is another one a little later

Stopped at Kingsbury in the car this morning, nothing is visible from the main gate, or the fence that is accessible to the public. There are walls of containers everywhere.

The engines are running and headlights are on on the 2 stopped at Longsight although I thought they were moving tomorrow.

You can however see the cab of one unit sticking out past the containers adjacent to the oil terminal entrance and a cab of another unit past the rail entrance into the yard from a passing train. Both cabs seem fairly intact so I did wonder where they would put another 2 or 3 units

Yes number 15 failed at Eaglescliffe with a defective engine back in November. Not worked a passenger train since. Came down from Newcastle to Darlington the previous day with it. Was 25 minutes late in to Middlesbrough due to the fact it wouldn't go over 50 mph. Problems at Middlesbrough as the transmission wouldn't engage when changing ends. Horrible grinding noise.

Any idea which unit was involved? These class 143s seem to be fire prone!

142042...? Funny, RAIL claimed that that one has already moved to TfW Rail for spare parts - false reporting...? and what about 142049...?
