A lot of folks returning from work might be totally unaware of Truss's statement. Indeed tomorrow's papers will have it buried pages underneath, normally it would be main headline; and people do need to know (whether you like her statement or not!).RIP
I've just got a weird feeling in my stomach at the minute, it feels like an absolute lifetime ago since the energy announcement by Liz Truss and although rehearsed heavily I'm sure just like us the media certainly weren't expecting to be covering this news today
The RMT have just announced that the strikes on 15th and 17th have been called off.
so true, so very, very true. AmenThe first thing she said as queen was, "Whether my life is long or short, it shall be dedicated for you and to serve you." Who can deny she kept true to her word? She must be, arguably, the greatest monarch in our history.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
God save the King.
That’s what I’ve been thinking. I was born in 1973, by which time she’d already been Queen for over 20 years. It’s going to take some getting used to the fact that we now have a King, and that our national anthem is now “God save the King” and not “God save the Queen” any longer. All I've ever known has been a queen and I was born in 1979. She had service foremost in her mind. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II
Silver linings, eh...? (and I say that as a Yorkshireman)Damm... that means no Emmerdale tonight !!!
On a serious note, today is a sad day... She had a wonderful innings, RIP
