It's gonna be far more than half grasshopper :p

Perhaps the honeymoon could be on 323 although how the marriage would be consummated is anyone's guess

Travelling back from the wedding on the Cally Sleeper, with Ivo wearing his firstgroup woolly hat!!!

Nor was Mrs Robinson. (BTW, did we ever find out her first name? I can't imagine an affair with someone when you don't know that) Still, if I had to guess, not even half 60 for quite a while.

I'll send you a rose from my garden if we get any this year.

Oh you little sly dog. Trying to get in on Ivos patch! Youve got a fight on your hands though. Ivos already thinking about the honeymoon!!

One can admire from afar, but occasionally one has to leave it at that. Last time nearly resulted in me under the wheels of 43145. And yes, I did get the number.

Good idea; one would not be amused!

I promise that I do not have a FirstGroup woolly hat! And even if I did, it would be a normal hat and not a woolly one!

Me thinks that wasnt just admiring. That was full on flirting!

Eh, they do say to keep clear of the platform edge. Perhaps they should add on to that- "Especially when admiring the leggy blond on platform 1"!!!

Well we shall get you this firstgroup woolly hat for the wedding then. Just promise to wear it when heading back on the Cally Sleeper!!

Can I have it today (i.e. for my birthday)? :)

We're all geared up for a potential conclusion to this highly amusing scenario, right on my birthday...

Good call; I think I've only ever been in a Golf once, but it felt great! Mind you, one of the girls I was with (who was both German and about 10 years old) started singing "We all live in a Silver Golf Car"...

Sounds like quite a good deal, and X-reg is newer than almost every Arriva bus in Southend!

How has this thread gone from the Mile High Club to buses, via (among others, andnot in any particular order other than that in which I think of them):

  • Hot chocolate
  • Roses
  • 37s
  • Postcodes
  • RAIL Magazine
And more? And all the while including this "thing" between myself and a lovely lady who considers herself "Yornish", as encouraged by at least five others to varying degrees and varying lengths?

P.S.: You do realise you just wasted your 4,000th post on me, right?

Indeed, so how're the wedding plans coming along? :D

Yeah, and it wasn't even a very good one!

...

Oh, those wedding plans! They're coming along very well! We're all geared up for a memorable ceremony in the Main Hall at the NRM, with the reception in the "outside area" (whatever it's called). And we shall be travelling to York courtesy of the Scotsman (or Tornado if not available).

As for the honeymoon, at the moment I'm thinking that the VSOE is a good idea, so I'll be looking into that with a few days' stayover in the canal city. We shall then head down to Rome for a day, again by luxury rail, and on the return possibly stop in the global fashion capital of Milan *just in case* it feels like a good idea for a honeymoon shopping spree, before returning to Venice for the return leg on the VSOE. Next, we'll use the Caley Sleeper up to Inverness, and explore the lines of the remote north, before returning south to England in First Class luxury on a EC HST to York/Doncaster, ready for one last journey to Sheffield...

...on a Pacer.

Yep, and tomorrows are going to be about organising this wedding!!
You could have it in the lounge car of the Cally sleeper!!
Or travel to the wedding on the sleeper, and have it up Ben Nevis!

Have it up Ben Nevis? Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Dear lord, just where is a lady’s “Ben Nevis” to be found?!

I think it’ll take a very special type of girl to still be with you in the morning if that’s how you finish!

It will have to be the Tornado. The scotsman is currently being re-boilered at bury ;)

The Ka is being sold, looking for something to replace it.
Looking at an X reg Golf with 53000 miles on the clock for £2k atm. It's a poverty spec 1.4, but I don't care, it's a Golf.

Dont do it. I had a 55 plate GTI. Had it two months, then got shut. Bone shaker, bad handler and too light on the back end. You went round a corner and almost took off.....and that was at around 20MPH!
