Glasgow Geminis 37190, 37196, 37220 & 37273 arrived at King Street Depot overnight. I would assume these are to help cover the shuttle and Park & Ride services First are operating this weekend for the European Pipe Band Championships at Duthie Park.
37273 is a cracker

65107 and 65112 have been delivered to Aberdeen. They're hoping to have some of the chargers live in the next week or two.

New Post 04/07/2023

Quite a bit has been happening in terms of the fleet lately.

65118 and 65121 have now been delivered to Aberdeen. Some of the chargers are to go live tomorrow with entry in to service planned for next Monday.

37190/196 have returned to Glasgow off loan, 37220/273 are still with Aberdeen. The four Geminis on loan have seen minimal use as it was realised soon after they arrived that they didn't actually require them.

69127 is currently at the Regional Repair Centre (RRC) at Caledonia depot in Glasgow undergoing driver trainer conversion, 69125 had been due to go first but 69127 has went instead. As mentioned previously 69125-28 are due to become the new trainers at Aberdeen eventually replacing 69123/24/38/50 ahead of LEZ, of which 69123 has already been withdrawn.

38213 has been wrapped in the "Drivers Wanted" advertisement, similar to that recently fitted to a number of vehicles at First Glasgow.

Of all those B7’s that Aberdeen has I just hope they pick the decent ones to stay, some of them really don’t feel there age at all whilst others feels absolutely knackered to drive.

I’m still surprised how most of them still have silky smooth gearboxes, they put some of the newer stock to shame.

By any chance is it the ones sent up from First Scotland East a few years ago, that feel absolutely knackered to drive?

Some of the sister buses like 69-127/128 and so on don't all feel the same. One might be pretty decent whilst the other feels lumpy and clapped out.

The 69-262/263 ones in my view definitely drive the best..

I’m not sure which ones were Scotland East vehicles previously.

69254/58/63/82-84/90/94

Most of the Scotland East ones have high backed seats.

It appears that there’s a Yutong out on Route 11 already.
See my previous post, it was 65115.

It has just been replaced by 69134, can only assume the driver that was about to take over hasn't done vehicle familiarisation yet.

There was also one on the 18, unsure if it was the same bus board.
What time did you see it? It wouldn't have been the same board but it may have been the same one. 65115 got swapped at Northfield for 69134 at 16:10 after only doing one round trip on the 11A, however the trip after had a driver change over so that may be why.

In other news... As mentioned a few posts back 38213 has gained a rather ghastly driver recruitment wrap, it made it's service debut today.
On Saturday (1st July) prior to being wrapped.

There getting desperate, they’ve had people on the streets trying to hand flyers out as well.

They simply can’t retain drivers.

There certainly has not been as many new drivers recently getting trained than there has been up to now.

Yutong on the 20 today.

Apparently they're short of buses hence the reason there out before Tuesday.

It’s great they’ve got new buses but simply shoddy the existing buses couldn’t even make it till Tuesday.
It isn't that they "couldn't last". A few of the B7RLEs have been taken off early pending training conversion, the loaned Geminis have returned to Glasgow and the Cruise Ship Shuttle has been operating on some days. Really should should've kept the Geminis for another week and returned them this weekend as the schools are away to finish.

I had a ride on one of the Yutongs today and they are nice buses. However, they are severely let down by their interior, uncomfortable and are quite dark and gloomy feeling.

Whilst I've not seen the Yutongs in the flesh I'd fully agree with the sentiment here that the First Interior urgently needs a reset, it's awful.
