Again there has been little or no attempt to play the final at a ground more convenient for the Welsh team (although to be fair, somewhere like Palmerston Park in Dumfries, might not be big enough and the Scots, understandably, wouldn't want the game played in England or Wales).
Still not as bad as 2019 when Ross County played Connahs Quay Nomads at Inverness (26 vs 399 miles).
I nearly spat coffee over my screen. Stuff that!!All the fuss over the flag on the new England kits, but thing that's been missed are the kit prices, £124.99 for an adult shirt, £119.99 for kids shirt, for the players version, even replica shirts are quite pricey now, & the authorities wonder why sites selling fake kits like DHgate do well.
Quite so. Those replica kit company marketing departments have made an absolute fortune from the sales over the years of replica kits by brainwashing the supporters into believing of the utter necessity to turn up en masse at matches wearing these. In my youth, a rosette and a suitably coloured scarf was the only outlay required.I nearly spat coffee over my screen. Stuff that!!
Not even a scarf tied around the wrist? In my youth, a rosette and a suitably coloured scarf was the only outlay required.
In those 1950s days, we wore scarves to keep our necks warm....Not even a scarf tied around the wrist?
By 2030 at this rate a shirt will be a grand. I think it's a good idea, the only folk that can afford it will be drug barons so cart them off down the nick for questioning!!Quite so. Would it? Are people struggling for money not allowed to accept gifts, for example? That aside it would be very hypocritical if someone goes to a food bank or claims hard-up benefits if they are wearing a shiny new England top.
Crazy, but they are driven to that by necessity. At least they can have an extremely high level of confidence that they will be able to get the matches played.Meanwhile, interesting that Truro City have found a new "home" ground, 200 miles away in Gloucester.
A couple of senior English non-league teams also took part in the Scottish Challenge Cup / Irn Bru Cup in season 2018-19 (namely Sutton United and Boreham Wood). And in season 2019-20, Solihull Moors took part.TNS are an English team (based in Oswestry) but play in the Welsh leagues, given the Scottish Challenge Cup is run by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), it's awkward picking a stadium closer to Wales given the geography of Scotland, given SPFL would want the final at a venue in Scotland
I see 2 teams from Northern Ireland played in the Scottish Challenge Cup too
Think if people are struggling there are better gifts to give than a bit of cloth!!Would it? Are people struggling for money not allowed to accept gifts, for example?
Maybe, but my point is that people should not be judged in such simple ways.Think if people are struggling there are better gifts to give than a bit of cloth!!

My thought is that wearing a replica kit from many seasons ago says far more about you. For example a Brighton shirt with Sandtex or Skint on the front says far more about your loyalty as a fan than shelling out on the latest kit and that applies to any clubQuite so. It says you're old!!My thought is that wearing a replica kit from many seasons ago says far more about you.
I prefer the term vintage or well seasoned! It says you're old!!
Congratulations to Chesterfield FC on promotion back to the Football League

That aside it would be very hypocritical if someone goes to a food bank or claims hard-up benefits if they are wearing a shiny new England top. As for the "flag" Netherlands don't have one (save for the one with the opposition on the front), Scotland have the Saltire and England have a mock-up design of a meaningless nothing.
Meanwhile, interesting that Truro City have found a new "home" ground, 200 miles away in Gloucester. That is absolutely barmy, three of their "home" games would be nearer to Truro if they switch to their opponents; Yeovil, Weymouth and Torquay.
Probably demonstrates the disparity between the quality/size of the playing squad that a club with a 7500+ average gate can operate with, compared with a club with a below 1000 average gate. Money talks, even at National League level. Having said that, well done Chesterfield, and best of luck back in the EFL.Interesting contrast, relatively early in the season, in the National League; At the top, Chesterfield promoted (well done to them) and at the bottom, Oxford City, sadly, relegated. Hopefully they will bounce back.
As a result of that match above, there has been a change at the top of the table as Wythenshawe Town beat Colne at home 1-0 with the winner coming in the 89th minute.Upside-down result in the NWCL (level 9 step5) with top team Wythenshawe losing to much lower Cheadle at home, 2 - 1 by two very late goals. Nerves can appear even at this level it seems!
Wythenshawe (Ammies) travel to Bury on Saturday and to neighbours Wythenshawe Town on Easter Monday. The results from these two games should go a long way in deciding who gets promoted to the Northern Premier. However, Wythenshawe are only two points behind Wythenshawe Town, with two games in hand.
Could be 5000+ at Gigg (Bury) for that one! Be nice if the Ammies had plenty of fans there too.Wythenshawe (Ammies) travel to Bury on Saturday and to neighbours Wythenshawe Town on Easter Monday. There won't be a massive crowd at this game, probably around 3000. This cup has become a contentious issue for supporters of the non Premier league clubs in Scotland, the inclusion of teams from Ireland, England and Wales is barely tolerated, but the Premier League Colt teams are also included and that is extremely disliked, with many fans boycotting games involving theses sides.
I found this news very concerning when it broke. I mean what is the world coming to.The German FA (the DFB) have made a rather controversial decision to replace Adidas with Nike from 2027-2034 as Nike made a better financial offer. Germany has been supplied by Adidas for 70 years.

Indeed, and amidst all the current talk of financial fair play, it should be noted that this is a concept which just doesn't exist in the National League. For an organisation that can be quite draconian in how it deals with clubs going into administration (or declaring it as a possibility - see Torquay United) and will punish those clubs who do not pay their taxes, this seems a strange anomaly. It say an awful lot more about buying success.
In the last two financial years (June 2021 to June 2023) Chesterfield lost £4.52 million on turnover of £8.51 million (ie costs about 50% greater than their income).
This season they've "invested" further in the playing squad, but crowds have been a bit higher
