TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

Whilst at Cardiff earlier I saw a unit was covering for the 1253 CDF-MAN. It seems every day recently a unit has covered 1 diagram. Is it expected to see a return to 5 diagrams being covered from Monday?

67020+HD01 1V33 1W61 1V62
67008+HD02 1W13 1V39 1W96
67010+HD03 ECS Crewe ETD to Crewe ATC for heavy exam
67014+HD04 1V91 1W57 1V46 1W65
67015+HD05 Repair/Minor exam at Crewe
67017+HD06 1V31 1W55 1V42 1W63
67025+HD07 1W59 (From Crewe) 1V50

Tuesday should have HD01/02/04/06/07 in service, 04 then stops for tyre turning so Wednesday and Thursday are planned for HD01/02/05/06/07 in service then HD04 should be back from Friday giving 6 available with 1 spare rake on Friday.

W11 will be yes.
I saw that and realised that even in these lower commuting times it was risky to try 1W11. Gone for the quieter 1W12. 1W11 was a 2-car in the end, so was a good choice to let that one go.

Less good news that 1W13 also seems to be a unit this morning.

Looks like 1W12 was turned back at Wilmslow? 30 minutes late so at least you should get delay repay.

This will put sets in the right place for tomorrow, there's no confirmation that HD02 will be ready for the morning, it's planned to work 1W13 but if it's not ready in the morning will go on 1W96 instead.

If RTT IS correct 158831 worked 1W11, I think the first non-197 substititution for a while, and 1V37 to Salop where 197020 replaced it.

For some weird reason RTT has the ECS from Crewe to take over 1W96 as a dmu at 40 mph, although its actual times don't really reflect that.

Yes a 158 worked the first Cardiff to Manchester. It looks like it later went on Birmingham-Cambrian services which is why it was swapped. I think its the first time a 158 has worked to Manchester in a while.

Yes, thankfully the Avanti was slightly late and took it over the 30 minutes (is it wrong to say thankfully when it went over the threshold for more refund).

Was late due to an ambulance being called to the Holyhead train that runs in front of 1W12. We sat at Craven Arms.

Sounds like tomorrow is looking better.

RTT shows the unit to Chester
Then the 67 & set forward,
The 67 & set left Chester on time in 1W96 path.
The unit hasn’t made Chester yet,
2 hours late.

Today at at Crewe depot (12/5/25):

67022 light engine

67015 connected to HD05

67025 connected to HD07 which then left on 5W96 to Chester to replace the 197 on 1W96 as mentioned above.

I don't want to speak too soon as I did the last time I said this, 1V50 is still showing as going to Swansea next week. Maybe the new timetable change will revive it, maybe not... hopefully!
