Just as the title suggests! Thought it would be nice to share what we all got for Christmas.

I'll kick us off...

I got a new soldering iron (temperiture controlled complete with fume extractor), one of those little cordless screwdrivers (For those jobs when my cordless drill driver is just too powerful), Lee Evans's book, Janson Manford's book, a few DVDs including The Inbetweeners Movie, Lee Evans Roadrunner and Peter Kay Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour. Then the usual chocolate and socks.

Over to you...

I mainly got money but did also get some interesting stuff... Got a EMT liveried HST which was absolutely stunning, with a couple of Mk3 coaches to go along with it, got the series of Frankie Boyles tramadol nights, Frankie Boyles book 'work, consume, die' and a Billy Connolly dvd of all his tours. I'm pretty satisfied myself!

8X09 (Locomaster DVD), apart from that it was non-railway related

Trouble is, Kernowfem wasn't the only member of the forum who was in A&E on Christmas Day, as I had the misfortune of going as well.

Fortunately, I wasn't the injured person, that misfortune belonged to my grandma, who fell and broke her hip last night. With her being 92, that will be a wheelchair and a care home for the rest of her life now. <(

I got a model of a 1992TS, a Camden Town sign (it's white text on black background, like a Northern line sign), the latest issue of Freightmaster, several railway books, East Coastway and Marshlink cab ride DVD, a hat, an InterCity 125 calendar and some other bits as well! I got a lot more than I was expecting.

So very sorry to here that. I wish her a speedy recovery and the strength to return to her own home.

I had a top gear T shirt, a few dvd's, some stationary equipment, as well as a few pairs of jeans, a packet of socks and about £50 from my grand parents and a giftcard which will be spent in WH smith I think.

That £50 will be used to go on a trip next week I think since i still have the national express half price offer voucher.

A mug, miniature perfumes, a vintage perfume bottle, socks, moonstone jewellery set, teddy bear shaped air fresheners, scented cushions for drawer (yes, they still make them...), lipsticks, eyeshadow, the obligatory cosmetic bag (anyone want to buy one? I have about 20 here - NOT KIDDING!) a towel with my name on, posh notebook and hand cream.

Oh and a top from my sister. (I bought it and bought her the same because she lives abroad!) :D

Most relevantly for this forum, one of the big timetable posters you find on stations, from the first half of 2011 for the Kyle and North Highland lines taken (with permission) by my Uncle from one of the stations on the Kyle line.

Possibly most relevantly for me, two bottles of Jack Daniels. <D

Plus various books covering the local history, railway and otherwise, of aspects of my native north east, including one furnishing me with more than I could ever possibly need to know about the High Level Bridge and Newcastle Central station!

Oh, and a not insubstantial mound of chocolate, interspersed with a few CDs and DVDs.

Not much :|

Two pairs of socks, some biscuits and chocolate, a new watch and phone (both of which I would have otherwise bought myself at only £25 between them), and two video games, one each for the gameCube (retro!) and Wii (which again I would have otherwise bought myself). My sister had more things to unwrap from me alone than that, never mind from anyone else :(

Oh, and a cold that led to sinusitis, which is only now starting to clear up <(

I almost invariably get less to unwrap than my brother and sister at Christmas. 2010 was a rare exception to the rule, and even then that was because my brother and sister were both getting something massively expensive (the exact identity of which I forget) - compared to the series of £2 things I got...

I don't mind getting less than they do because I'm not materialistic (which they most definitely are), but it does hurt having only three things to unwrap when they get 15. Can't I at least have a can of Pepsi to unwrap or something, so it looks fairer?

Actually, have I made this complaint before? Or was it on another forum?

I go bog all, what I asked for as always! However my partner was determined to get me something so I got an engagement ring from him :D!

Various train and car books, some Dr. Who merchandise, a new flask and woolly hat, a couple of video games, some beer, plus rather unfortunately - a sponge... :(

So will you be placing your flask on the next DRS train from Bridgwater to Sellafield train? :p!

Or will you be combining the hat and flask and do this:

"..would you like a bit? I bet you would..."

A few bits and pieces - a couple that relate to the forum would be the Pendolinos and Voyagers DVD (spotted an error in it...aren't I sad ) and a Rail Atlas (which despote my lack of geography skills, I have found very interesting :))

Aside from that, a couple of other books and CD's, toiletries, chocolate and such like.

Ouch! Hope you are recovering OK (and can soon change the channel on the TV remote :P) :)

Reading this reminded me of one of the things Peter Kay did on his most recent tour (for those that have seen it live/have the DVD you will know what I mean) about falling over shoes and the house being like an obstacle course...the difference being, it doesn't make mention to the men of the family leaving shoes around everywhere :P

Oh yes, and a cold...though he brought that one a few days before <_<
Still couldn't taste a right lot on Christmas Day though :(
