i would like to point out that SouthWest Trains 455s 30 odd years old, the 458/0s are 15-16 yrs old and the 158/9s are getting on for 30yrs old, same for the 456s , and Southerns 455s.
8025 is currently sitting on london end 11 road in the shed minus its shoegear,
the barrier coaches left top yard yesterday i think, to bring back the next unit from Doncaster.
The 458's were total crap from the day they left the factory , it is the Wimbledon fitters that tinkered with them and made them the best performing units in the country, since then Alstom have also made the 458/5 crap , and again it will be the Wimbledon fitters that get them running right.
455 and 458s are as good as they are because of the work the fitters at Wimbledon put into them, we have a great team of fitters, cleaners and logistical staff dedicated to keeping them running.
