I started on Thursday, got to the part where we have to submit a CV, where I'm pretty certain it said "Optional", so left it and pressed submit. I left it as my CV was not up to date and I wanted to get the application registered. Also, when I applied for last year's campaign I was told by HR that they do not even look at the CVs. When I pressed submit I got an error message saying I had not attached my CV so came out with the intention of updating my CV over the weekend. The rest, as they say, is history.

The lesson for the rest of you is to make sure you keep your CV updated. This is so annoying, as I know I could have attached my old CV to get through the application and then gone back and updated it later.

I've sent a begging email to HR but we all know which bin that will end up in. I only usually drink on holiday, but tonight might be an exception!
Noooooooo. Sorry to hear

Closing dates are to be taken with a pinch of salt. I know a fair few people who work part time, or full time with a lower salary and everyone I told about the vacancy put in an application promptly. And I told a lot of people!

Living by treating a deadline as a target date for completion is all very well, but is a risky strategy. Some companies run assessment centres, hold interviews and even give people job offers prior to the closing date of the vacancy. That's not to say it's always the case but the chances of success increase with timely responses! Especially when the advert contains a paragraph, in bold, stating;

Due to the expected high response to these vacancies there may be a delay in communication. We reserve the right to close this campaign once we have a suitable pool of applicants, which could be prior to the published application closing date of Sunday 1st April 2018.

Hi all,

Does anybody know how long they normally take to sift through applications and start sending emails for the next stage?

Hi all,

I'd say if you haven't heard back after 8 weeks, it may be worth pinging them an email.

They can be quite slow, but not bad considering the number of applicants they've likely had. Expect to be waiting a month or two/several, unless you've done spectacularly well on the SJT.

Have heard from DistrictDaves forum that over 4500 applied within the first two days, hence why the advert was pulled early.

Last time out 2017 of which I was one, apparently over 15,000 applied, but that was open longer if I remember !

I was lucky enough to be successful, but 4 months since being offered the job still waiting for training dates :(

I've not been here for a while but am I right in assuming that they had re-advertised the position since the very first post? I applied originally but didn't make it through to stage two.

I was offered the job on Dec 4th and still waiting too, I spoke to tfl last week and they said it's unlikely I'll get a training date before July!

Same! I got offered the role in December and had my medical at the beginning of March. Still not been contacted regarding a training date.

With this years vacancy it does warn that you’re applying to a pool, and could wait up to a year to start.

I've decided to go for the NT CSA position and try to apply for Tube Op job internally.
Does anyone know how often Tube Op gets offered internally and how long do you have to serve as CSA before you can apply

I am still confused, did they re advertise the job again a few weeks ago or something?

Yes. It was posted on 5th March with a provisional closing date of 1 April. Due to a very high number of applicants, the post got pulled last Friday. Sorry that you missed it too.

Same here. I've had the alert set for some time but nothing came through. I only picked up on it thanks to forum members especially Jambo, posting details here.
