450013 can be added to the list with partly refurbished interiors too.
Where did you hear this from?, I work for the company so I will ask around. The first fully refurbished 444 is expected mid October.
What’s probably happened is they had a job lot of “laptop charger only” stickers produced around fifteen years ago.I've noticed that on some 450s there are now plug sockets. There use to be pug sockets on a few but it's expanding is my impression.
If it is expanding then I'm sure the above point has been mentioned on here.
However has anyone mentioned the fact that on top of the plug dockets is a message about it being for laptop battery charging only. In this day and age of smartphones that seems silly. I've not seen similar wording on other trains being to other franchises.

I've used them to charge my mobile and the train hasn't blown up.Bet people ignore the stickers
It's some sort of soft insulation, not wood. But yes, looks cheap. The bits of wood look a bit tacky couldn’t they have made some “plastic shims” lol
I guess it doesn't matter how it looks as long as it actually lasts. It's some sort of soft insulation, not wood. But yes, looks cheap.

I take it given the 455s and 456s will eventually go, no chance of them ever having WiFi.
Poking something into the live hole will meet a shutter which is moved when a pin enters the earth hole. Jabbing something into the live (or neutral) holes will not make an electrical connection.
The BS1363 plug and socket is one of the safest out there.
Highly unlikely. You're theorising over nothing.Oh yes, I realise that, but when these sockets get increasingly worn and gunged up over time, that shutter will start to stick open here and there...
They're at the same height as in the 1st Class area and in the 1st Class area converted to standard in the 450/5s as were (the sockets were retained). I wasn't aware of any safety issues with them then, so don't see why there should be any issues now.The new sockets seem very much at the height where any children travelling will want to play with them.
But (possibly showing my ignorance of basic electrical theory here) am I right in thinking that, whereas just poking something metal into the 'live' side of the socket at home will give you a shock, because it's live with respect to earth, on the train this isn't the case, and you'd have to touch both 'live' and 'neutral' together to get a shock?
The big question is whether the interior has been done or whether it's just moved outside for a bit of fresh air!444040 Appears to have finally broken cover at last, although unlike a caterpillar turning into a butterfly nothing appears to have been changed on it's exterior! I wonder if they will receive the revised version of the SWR livery as per the recent returning 159s or if First Group takes the easier way out and just sticks to Vinyls.

Which version of the livery has 159010 received?159006 ventured up to Loughborough today, replacing 159010 which came down to Salisbury yesterday.
