That money is paid to the EU in 2 days so don't think this is "amazing" we lose more than gain by staying in the EU, and this funding was promised years ago before leaving.

I really dislike that putdown (whether I agree with your general sentiment or not). @Cardiff123 already made a more constructive reply yesterday. I don't feel that you're adding much to the conversation, other than coming across as being adversarial and dismissive.

I know that this is a very emotive issue, but I'm sure you can give a more reasoned response than that. And if you want to discuss the issues of EU funding in depth, there's a thread here for that very purpose.

First pictures of 175010 in the middle of being reliveried available:

How long does/should it take to relivery a train like a 175? Given that this photo was taken 24-36 hours ago and we’re assuming nothing bar possibly a deep clean is happening inside could this train be out of service for a week?

I’d be interested in any sightings before the new franchise.

It seems almost criminal to keep a unit like that out of action given the overcrowding experienced by people all over the franchise.

It's a one off painting for the moment for the new franchise publicity launch

OK. But that doesn’t answer my question. A week before the handover it looks done. Will this unit be in use next week or is it out of action until 14/15th November?

I can't answer that, I'm afraid. I know nothing more than the link in #Post 807 and haven't seen anything put out from TFW

Paint is indicated by the contents of Page #807
Which is a photo taken from elsewhere and states “in the paint shop” when it is clearly just in Chester depot.

So my question stands!

Aber in Caerphilly used to be Aber Junction Halt, the nearby Aber Junction being where the line to Aber(tridwr) and Senghenydd branched off.

Driving my desk...
It was parked outside Chester depot this afternoon, seen from the cycle path. It doesn't wow me, it's the same generic white with coloured bits as every other operator.

As far as I know, that's because the industry data model for TOC reference data doesn't have start and end dates. After the handover from ATW to TfW Rail, the reference data will have to be updated.

They've gone for the white skirt again like they had with the first ATW livery on these. They'll look mucky after a while, but it's a smart livery nonetheless.

Tidy livery, but a little dull isn't it?
Maybe a little, but with the TfW colour scheme (white, black, red and grey) and design language (simple shapes, focus on typography) you're bound to get a bland livery rather quickly.

Not that that's a bad thing, per sé. If the style applied to that 175 is applied to everything within TfW's reach, it will result in a very consistent image and a very strong brand.

Is there a clause the DfT put into franchise agreements stipulating that all trains have to be predominantly white now?

Northern Rail, Greater Anglia, Virgin West Coast, now KeolisAmey Wales....

It's for the south wales metro as a whole so It could have been spent on the VOG , Maesteg, Ebbw Vale etc.

I've not been involved in EU funding for many years, but back when I was, although it may have been publicised as being "for the south wales metro as a whole", the actual funding application would have been far more detailed
