Nope, same people managing the 333 refurbs as the rest of the fleet refurbs.
I was told that Siemens were dictating quality control, not Northern which is why 001 took so long to re-enter service.
I guess your on about the sprinters that haven't received a full interior refurb yet (no new seat covers or linos)
I'm talking about the fully refurbed ones. They didn't strip interior panels to paint them on some trains, they just left them in situ and it's caused cracks in the paint to appear. Poor job and those who did it (might be Brodies) should be stripped of the contract.

I don't know anything about contractors but I think the contractors are different

this must also be the reason why some seats in 333001 look different

I must say that the refurbed 333s are very much like new. They are very pleasant to both see and use! The contrast with the unrefurbed 333 (unknown) I caught yesterday was very noticeable. Looking forward to seeing if the 331s match it when they turn up - currently the refresh is enough (although I wouldn't say no to a few more carriages...)

Also I caught a 32X up in Glasgow over the Easter weekend (Scotstounhill - Partick) and it was light years ahead in terms of quality compared to the rammed metro-density 32Xs on the Aire-Wharfe Triangle!

333011 was in Platform 2 at Leeds today ready to form the 1703 Ilkley, but with a "Not to be Moved" marker on it. After a while, one of the doors opened to admit a fitter- no idea what the problem was but depending on your point of view, either the 1703 was cancelled and everybody piled on to the 1715, or the 1715 was cancelled and the 1703 ran in its path. Tracing the diagram back, there seems to have been a unit failed at Skipton mid-afternoon which caused the loss of a set.

I think the latter was the most likely because I don't think 333011 would have failed on it's first day in service

Sadly I hear recently repainted 333 001 has been crudely covered in graffiti by some pebble brain. Pity they didn't get hold of the overhead.

Who would even do that? (mind you thats a dumb question bearing in mind that Neville Hill is located right next to a rough area of Leeds )

I'm sure it will back soon after a great deal of expensive time consuming hard work by a cleaning team.
Why these people spent huge amounts on paint, risk a criminal record or jail (never get a decent job again), push up fares as well as stay out all night I'm at a total loss. Pity they didn't touch the overhead.
If anyone knows who uses the "earth" tag I'm sure northern of the BTP would be very interested.
