Are the Nova 3 sets operating tomorrow (bank holiday monday)? If so, what services are they operating out of Liverpool?

Had my first experience with the Nova 3 today, saw it departing Manchester Victoria this morning as it headed to Scarborough, I then caught it on it's return run from York to Leeds. Have to say the onboard experience felt like a huge step up from the 185's it's replacing as well as feeling like more oomph on the power and speed as we departed York. The onboard team were also very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately onboard was a mess from the passengers, but with several high profile events I guess that is to be expected.

Video: Departing Manchester Victoria slightly delayed at 0932 this morning

I will add in more images in the morning once I've edited and sorted them all out :)

Okies, thanks.

That explains it!
The Nova 3 is a great train, but not yet cleared for driverless operation;)

Definitely worked through York and shown on station boards as forward to Lime Street.

‘TPE journey check’ is actually really good, especially for checking when they have cancelled trains.

Nope don't want driverless or driver only, that's for sure.

Great video to end the night with.

Glad you liked the train! Speaking from experience yesterday, the sheer volume of children and race-goers on board certainly made the on-train environment something of a challenge to keep clean! (Think trodden crisps and spilled Prosecco)

The 1F80 hit a deer between Seamer and Malton. All sorted though after a quick (but thorough) visual inspection of the train.

Driver was booked to change at York and did so as planned.

And sorry for being a Herbert:'(
Twas just that I missed the coffee to ease down the bacon butty.
Accidents happen, and given the amount of time you've put into covering this for those of us who can't always get out, you're fully forgiven.

I hope this next bit isn't off topic, but given the trans pennine electrification was put on hold because a 185 has good acceleration, does anyone know how this 68/carriage matches up in that respect. It certainly looks sharpish so far, but could potential better acceleration of these and the 802s scupper any further plans for tp wiring?
Happy for this to be shunted into any existing topic on the subject.

I'd proffer that they're quicker than the 185s - certainly pulling away from Huddersfield yesterday, I did get pushed back into my seat.

185s full power output is limited to around 80% <18mph. Logic schematics don't explain why though but I presume it's to mitigate cardan shaft overload and wheel slip.

Well apologies again @neilboo and thank you for your understanding.

I’m in agreement with you both, the acceleration does seem very good, at least in the lower speed ranges.

@_toommm_ Yes, pushed back into the Seat is something that happened a few times on Saturday too.

I’m hoping to have a further trip over the Pennines soon, stop watch in hand:)

Currently on it on the 0800 from Huddersfield towards Scarborough and it is 12809 leading with 68027 on the rear (Liverpool end).
Many thanks for that, always helpful for photographing the ‘right’ end:)

Top marks so far to all involved with the service introduction of the Nova 3. I travelled to Scarborough yesterday and the train was wedged, I’m not convinced everyone would have got on a 185.
