HST buffets have an emergency door release mechanism on them I think.Mk3 buffets also only have passenger-openable doors at one end - aren't they normally locked using a carriage key which may not be to hand in an emergency if the buffet staff are incapacitated or it is closed? And FLIRTs only have one set of doors on each side anyway, though they have an evacuation window. Perhaps this could be fitted to the 153s and the doors at that end blanked off?
