I got a reply to my query e-mail as to whether my application had actually been received. The reply neither confirms or denies, but says it can take from 2 weeks to four months for the initial sift to happen, and they will be in touch once my application has been reviewed.

If their previous campaign is anything to go by, the initial sift can be longer than 4 months. Reckon they only told you 4 months to keep you from continuously contacting them.

I passed my assessments privately with DB SCHENKER a couple of weeks ago so I am
now on the national database with a standard pass and I hady MMI also. So I hope they take the standard pass and not advanced pass
Where did you take that test?

Hi, as anyone done first day assessment with Arriva yet?
If so what are the tests you sat on the first assessment?
The invite states two concentration tests a fault finding test and a SJT.
I was wondering what the concentration tests consist of?
Thanks

So much for 'no news is good news'.
The amount of speculation on the recruitment process is staggering. Nobody here has any facts or proof of anything.

Yes. Fact is, I e-mailed to enquire if my application was received, as it was unclear on my profile, I got an e-mail back stating initial sift takes from 2 weeks to 4 months. Ergo, until April, it's all up in the air.

And I still don't know if my application is even in the pile.......

I emailed them a few weeks back, they confirmed they received my application and said it can take upto 4 months from closing date to go through the applications due to the high number.

It is just a waiting game now, some have already had rejections, some have posted they have been invited to assessment, so process is moving.

As for how they sift, chronologically, alphabetically etc is anyone’s guess unless someone here knows the actual process.....
Motherwise sit tight, carry on with daily life and keep checking ya emails, something will arrive at some point, it’s only been 2 weeks since closing date!!!!!

120 people have been invited to assessment, one group in the am and one in the pm across 4 days.

You got a confirmation of receipt? That's more than I got. Did you have the weird thing where the list had the job as applied for, but last application date was wrong?

Hi, i am new to this forum. I applied around 3 weeks ago and was invited to stage one last week. It is on december 6th. Can Can anyone tell me what to expect apart from what the invitation email gives away? Also what sort of dresscode is required as this is not a interview?

How do you think you did?

When was your assessment date?
If you have already had it, how do you think you did?

Has anyone received a reply that doesn’t need to do the tests? (Passed elsewhere)

Even if you have passed tests elsewhere you will still have to sit at least 2 of the ARL specific assessments.

So the people they haven't invited to assement centres does that practically mean we are ruled out ?

Like to think they’d be more than one assessment centre! Plus they will whittle a lot of people out from the 120(?) that went.

Hi GreenSignal, as you have this information I'm hoping you may be able to shed some light on the following - Does this mean if you haven't heard anything at all yet, the likelihood is that your 'thanks but no thanks' email is on the way? Or, will they still be going through the applications and have further testing to groups to sort out? Many thanks in advance, if anybody can answer the above..

Yeah it was ok tbh wont know for 6-7 days they say, the first test was a bourdon test with the dots and the second was circle some symbols in a text whilst counting beeps so that was the two concentration tests. Next we had a fault finding test which again was pretty straight foward as its all explained in good detail and finally we had the SJT. They send you practice materials before the actual assessment day.

Hi,
I am in no way speaking on behalf of ARL but a previous member mentioned there will be more then one assessment.
As I highlighted before, there are 4 assessment days, 15 people in each, one am and one pm.
15x2 =30 x4 = 120.
Admittedly people will be unsuccessful, but if all vacancies are filled from the 120 candidates then you will receive your thank you, but no thank you email.

Hey guys, first tome commenting and new to this whole thread.

I applied for this role, didn’t add in a cover letter or additional information so I wasn’t hoping for a reply but I got a email on a Sunday afternoon weirdly.

I’m on my way to my assessment day now. So best off luck to anyone who’s done their assessments already, hopefully it won’t be as bad as I think it is lol .

It took ARL almost a year to reject me. By that time I had applied to a different company, passed the assessments, started the job and passed my rules and traction course. Things are slow in our industry but ARL take it to a different level lol.

Good luck to all those still in the running.
