Update. They didn't even look at my bag. Breezed right past them at the gate. Only issue I did have was that I forgot to take my belt off which set the scanners off...
they might have a riot on their hands.
Why? If you agree to the T&C's of Ryanair when you buy your ticket, and then turn up at the gate with a bag that is bigger than what you have agreed to in those T&C's, then it's YOUR fault, not the Airlines. Some people's sense of entitlement is mind boggling! Follow the T&C's and there is no problem. People who want to argue the toss should be made to stand in front of one of the planes engines when they are spooled up. (Ideal for dealing with rioters)!
What's the view like from your high horse?
Leave the capitalisation of random words to the Daily Mail.
You're new here, clearly, and the point is about the change of policy on payment for bags which were previously free to a fee structure which now makes Wizz look generous.
If you're going to come here and defend Ryanair I think you will get short shrift.
Tegal depends a lot between terminals: the original terminal has security per-gate, and unsurprisingly each gate has little in the way of anything.I'm flying from Berlin Schoenefeld on Sunday - is it any better than Tegel for facilities after security, specifically for food? Tegel just had a bar selling a few sandwiches - is there anywhere post-security for getting hot food in Schoenefeld?
If Schoenefeld is better than Tegel then I am glad I have never used Tegel. Schoenberg is horribly overcrowded airside. Only place I have been with worse overcrowding is Split (Which would be a nice airport with more space). Schoenefeld was horrible.I'm flying from Berlin Schoenefeld on Sunday - is it any better than Tegel for facilities after security, specifically for food? Tegel wasn't overcrowded, just under-equipped.
Ever been through Lisbon Terminal 2? That was the worst ever in my experience.
Agreed. One of the worst airports I've ever used in Europe (Funchal is another). Would rather take the train to Berlin than use SXF again (airport code for Berlin Schoenefeld for those not aware)

Budget airline easyJet has axed its flights between Aberdeen and London Gatwick.
It will withdraw from the route on February 8, it was confirmed today.
A spokesman for the Luton-based airline said: “After reviewing the route, easyJet can confirm that it will cease operating flights between Aberdeen and London Gatwick from February 8 2019 due to a reduction in demand.
“We concentrate our efforts on maintaining and developing routes which prove most popular with passengers.
“EasyJet will continue to operate flights from Aberdeen to London Luton.”
Raise you the Billi terminal at Bordeaux on a Summer Saturday...
I've not had the 'pleasure' of using this airport I must admit.
Another one that springs to mind is Lisbon (using the 'shack' that Easyjet flights depart from). It's horrible, absolutely horrible. There was hardly any seating, and people with young children/infants we sat on the floor in corridors as nowhere else to go.

Sounds like the Bordeaux Billi then. Departures queue well out the door, 3 bag drop desks open for about 6 flights in an hour or so, security overwhelmed, no seating until airside, and then only a small cafe and about 50 seats, and 1000 people wanting to use them. All in a warehouse with half a dozen windows the size of dinner plates. I thought I was unlucky, but it has happened every time I’ve been there.
Also sounds like Bremen too when I flew with Ryanair to Edinburgh a few years ago - that by the way was the last time I would ever fly with Ryanair due to the awful experiences I had with them which is a pity as my first flight with them a few years even earlier from Stansted to Almeria was really good.
You’ve done the right thing. I boycotted them twice before, and twice have gone back. After last year though, it’s three strikes and they’re out for ever.
I only flew with them as it was a direct flight to Edinburgh and meant I didn't have to fly into London from Berlin and then fly up to Edinburgh plus it meant I got to sample my first ever ICE train to Hamburg!
Well I'm now at the point that if Ryanair are the only airline flying to somewhere I need to go, I will go with another airline to somewhere less convenient and complete the journey over land. Indeed that is why I ended up in Bordeaux with a 3 hour drive rather than Carcassonne and 30 minutes.
I am no fan of them but this rather seems like biting your nose off to spite your face.

The only major problem I have had with Ryanair was a six hour delay from Wroclaw to Liverpool. Fortunately Wroclaw airport was really nice, had brilliant wi fi, cheap beer and a good smoking area. I didn't even bother going after compensation.
If Schoenefeld is better than Tegel then I am glad I have never used Tegel. Schoenberg is horribly overcrowded airside.
Does anyone have any experiences of flying with Alitalia? Are they preferable to Ryanair? Is it wise to book with them as they are struggling financially?
