I was taking the redundant water. The trek from platform 1 to the bus stops at Liverpool South Parkway feels like a really long way, although of course it actually isn't. Still takes a few minutes to do though. The journey to the airport feels like less of a mission!
Switzerland is not cheap, agreed, but like everything it can be done for reasonable money. I did find it expensive myself, but the Bernina Express made it worth every penny.
Recommendations, let's see. Stockholm, Vienna, Tallinn (just seen you've done that), Belgium (the train trip from Liege to Luxembourg is well worth it), Maastricht is nice too. Alicante and Valencia were nice, the Algarve I did as a child in 1992 so I have no recent memory of it but I have fond memories. Vilnius is a day trip and no more than that in my eyes. Riga I didn't think much of, same for Oslo.
I could possibly recommend a perusal of my trip reports at techsworldfrenzy.wordpress.com for some more in-depth thoughts
In October 2018 it was Java Republic, ground coffee but I didn't think much of it. I'd get coffee at Heathrow, go to Pret at T5 with a reusable mug and get a filter coffee for 99p. With a mug you also get 50p off. It may only be filter coffee, but for 49p you cannot really argue. It's better than the stuff BA do on board in my opinion, for sure, and you'll not only get (usually) excellent customer service but you'll help keep hard-working baristas in a job. I also recommend their hellfire bacon rolls, not cheap but oh so worth it!
