Its a telegraph pole that's through issue just before you reach the station at Avoncliff. I've been caught up in this disruption while deciding to take a trip to westbury.

FGW have been cancelling trains / running with huge delays left right and centre.

All trains been running via Melksham reversing the other side of thingley junction. Disruption expected until 0600 13/11/11

A telegraph pole-mounted transformer appears to have caught fire, burning through the pole and causing high-voltage lines to fall, melting themselves to the rails. It's going to be an all-night possession to replace the damaged sections. Combined with the ATW unit which caught fire at Cardiff Central earlier, causing the station to be evacuated, it's not been a great day!

And there were delays between Cardiff and Swansea too!
    Not great at all.
