No point changing at Paddington, as half the Circles would terminate at Edgware Rd. Also a VERY long walk to change. The simplest and probably quickest, especially in rush hour is changing at Baker Street for Met. The Bakerloo stairs come out on the Met platforms. If the Met has problems, Circle & Hammersmith is available as a back-up. Do not goto Oxford Circus as the change isn't cross-platform AND it is the busiest station on the Underground especially at the time you'd be going through.

Your best bet is, as already mentioned, changing onto the Metropolitan Line at Baker Street.

Please do not get to St Pancras as late as 9am. The likelihood is that the tube will be busy at that time of the morning plus check-in closes thirty minutes before departure. I would aim to get there for 8.30. This allows enough time yet not too long to wait in the departure lounge. Boarding commences twenty minutes before departure anyway plus there is a Caffè Nero after customs meaning you can take coffee on board (if you purchase coffee before customs, security will ask you to dispose of it).

I got the 10.24 to Paris on 15th January and was there by 9

Well, since you said please. Ha!

Good advice everyone, thank you. We now aim to leave the flat for the tube at 7:30.

Bearing in mind the time you will be at Baker Street, then it is likely the Met trains will be busier than the Barking/Circle line services, with commuters heading towards the city.

Plenty of Met commuters changing to the Bakerloo and Jubilee, though, as against the Paddington GWR-detrainers making their way to the City.

I wanted to thank everyone for their input. We had no issues getting the train at St. Pancras. No line at passport control on either end of the journey, and plenty of time for a snack beforehand. The tube switch was seamless at Baker St. to the Met.

Excellent news, glad it all went well. Thank you for letting us know.
