Thought I’d mention since it was brought up previously. Personally I think they look better than the green anywayThe doors won’t change, there’s no need.

Not until September at the earliestAny word on when the GatEx /2s return south? (Probably a discussion for a separate thread)
The number of 387 diagrams increases from September on SNGX, so they'll be transferring over the next month or so.Not until September at the earliest

It did a test trip from Hornsey to Welwyn GC and back this morning too. Couldn’t hear any wheel flats that were mentioned earlier in the thread. Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I’ve just spotted 303 sitting outside Hornsey with GN branding applied. The Navy blue doors remain for now
Probably had a bogie replacement since moving to Hornsey? The person who told me was involved with the transfer in some form, so I take their word for it.It did a test trip from Hornsey to Welwyn GC and back this morning too. Couldn’t hear any wheel flats that were mentioned earlier in the thread.
301, 302, 305 and 306 are the numbers - 303 and 304 have already been cycled through Hornsey for mods as noted up thread.Passed 4 of these in Nene Sidings just now. Couldn’t see fleet #s as was on a non-stop LNER but there was one solo with C2C branding and then 3 which seemed to be partially debranded (no C2C logos but still with the vinyls c2c use on the doors) in a 12 car formation
What will they be doing at selhurst?387303+304 heading south via the core to Selhurst Depot today on 3Z55
Perhaps being fast tracked for the Project Aurora Mods. Makes sense to do them before they enter service with GNWhat will they be doing at selhurst?
I assume by grey coupling cover you are referring to the shiny coupling face, that is typical of a good clean up by GTR staff
387303 and 304 at Selhurst - would appear as if they’ve received the grey coupling cover as with the other GTR Electrostars.
Yes that’s it - apparently it’s coated in a grey substance to protect it better.I assume by grey coupling cover you are referring to the shiny coupling face, that is typical of a good clean up by GTR staff

Ahh makes sense, thanks!Initially they were coated with a black or grey coating to prevent corrosion, what you see in that image is the coating completely worn off after cleaning with a wire brush and scotch pad and a reasonably nice polish established from the scotch pad
Beat me to it!303/304 at Three Bridges
