As I write this , I see that 1s25 n/b sleeper which left Euston at 2116 is still moving north near Stirling 310 ( 5H 10 mins ) late ! due Inverness 1315.It had left Crewe 77L . Warrington 127L Preston 141L .Fort William portion cancelled from Edinburgh.
Also the s/b 1M16 Inv to Euston is 184L at Milton Keynes, due Eus 1050. Clearly not a good night . Can someone please post resons for delays ? Yes I have looked on website and Twitter but none the wiser .

There was a person hit by a train around 07:00 this morning at Leighton Buzzard

It was hours late, missed all that. 90024 allegedly driven off the wires at Waverley, 66xxx with 67xxx inside for EH only as 67 unable to work train over Beattock solo. Now sitting at the Keynes, possibly to be caped as two locos won't fit into Euston for the ecs release?

1S25 50mph from about Hanslope due to stock defect. Fort Bill portion caped, day coaches presumably left at Waverley for the day.

Class...

Yes I did see on the webcam that the s/b sleeper arrived at Crewe with a 66 on the front with a 67 behind it.

1M16 was terminated at MK AT 1010 , 184L .Presume passengers entitled to full compensation ?

If the 67 was only ticking over proving ETS then the 66 would've been working flat out trying to shift that load and I wouldn't be at all surprised it failed.

I am told the northbound Highlander ( 1S25? ) left Euston nearly two hours late tonight ( 29th ); any idea what caused this?

The self same locomotives that shift 2000 tonne block trains, and regularly run up and down the West Coast main line, at up to their maximum speed of 75mph, on long distance intermodal trains than can weigh around 1000 tonnes? The Caledonian Sleeper is a lengthy formation, but even with a dead class 67 in the consist it falls short of what is asked daily of the class 66 fleet on freight workings.

Seemed to make it to EDB without any further issues, but the Aberdeen set then didn't do too well :?

66s are indeed pretty impressive machines.
