Current planned withdrawal date is between September 2022 and April 2023 according to Eversholt.

Through running of Shenfield services via the core is currently planned for September, but possibly the 315s could continue for a bit longer on the 4 tph peak service from Liverpool Street High Level to Gidea Park, assuming this is still planned.

Will the future peak service from Liverpool Street to Gidea Park terminate at Gidea Park and not Shenfield?

Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place, but I don’t suppose anyone on here knows the headcodes the class usually work on?

Many thanks in advance:)

I have sent you a PM - the bulk of the workings are in the late afternoon to late evening.

Perhaps this will give the ”preservation society” some time to get their ducks in a row <D

I'm at Stratford now. Does anyone know if there will be any 315 running soon here to see if I can catch one before I'm due to return home?

The remaining 315’s will be withdrawn in September 2022. I don’t have the exact date

Will depend on when end-to-end running starts I guess? Autumn 2022 at some point? Or maybe they can get away running the three separate services without the 315s?

It just depends on how brave TfL / MTR in agreement are regarding class 345 fleet availability. The 315s are an insurance policy to ensure no fleet related cancellations, but all insurance policies have their price.

Having to provide 3 x 7 car 345s for 2 diagrams on Great Western has extended their life.

West needs about 15 units in peaks, Central Operating Section is 18. Not sure about West, possibly approximately 20, maybe slightly more, let's say 22 for simple maths. But I know they do switch units during the day, so it's probably less straight forward. So that's about 55, in theory. Excluding the three 7-car 345s you've got 67 units, 55 required?

The core Stratford to Paddington will open this September 2022 and the 315’s are finishing this September. They are not going beyond September. This is from official sources.

Very wise to withdraw the final class 315s before the line to Paddington opens. This guarantees they cannot accidentally head down that way.

I suspect the driver of any 315 signalled to go into the core would manage to query the route.

??

I doubt that's ever been a concern. For example, has a Class 317 ever been routed to Blackfriars?

I’d have thought there’d be some sort of equipment to stop anything not fitted with CBTC from entering the Crossrail core both at Stratford and at Royal Oak. I know there’s equipment to prevent non-LU stock from accessing the Bakerloo line platforms at Queens Park, and likewise equipment to prevent non-Metro stock from accessing the Nexus owned tracks at Pelaw.

Does anyone have the post timetable change diagrams for the 315s? I do want to know if any peak morning services with them on remain…

Post #1328 is your friend, which quoted:

Monday to Friday ex Shenfield 0751, 1538, 1720, 1903, 2048, 2236
Monday to Friday ex Liverpool St 1630, 1815, 1957, 2142, 2334

Nothing changed with these diagrams either at May timetable, or Liz line opening.

Believe this is still correct for 1 315 set, but isn't there 2 out now? Not sure of paths for the second set
