It just wouldn't be worth the training or the problems with getting them back to somewhere that can maintain them for the 3 or 4 trips per day. To get a 319 back to Allerton would be mean going via London or Scotland.
319002 is also at Loughborough. Wonder why though as this one was not earmarked to be converted, unless its going to GWR319373 is now in service with Northern.
319442 is now at Loughborough.
319456 has been converted to Class 769.

This one was earmarked for LN(W)R I believe, perhaps it's getting a refurb?319002 is also at Loughborough. Wonder why though as this one was not earmarked to be converted, unless its going to GWR

didnt they have a small fleet (was it 3?) of 312's for Leeds-Doncaster. think WYPTE paid for em.
312's never worked in that area they worked on the Great Eastern Main Line, The London Tilbury and Southend line and the Great Northern outer suburban from Kings Cross they last ran on 30th June 2004.didnt they have a small fleet (was it 3?) of 312's for Leeds-Doncaster. think WYPTE paid for em.
I believe it was a fleet of 5 307s that ran following electrification of the Doncaster to Leeds line until the 3 321/9s were ready for traffic. I think it was some time in 1993 that the 321/9s were introduced.didnt they have a small fleet (was it 3?) of 312's for Leeds-Doncaster. think WYPTE paid for em.

Yes as the 321/9's weren't introduced until July 1991 Class 307's were brought in as a stop gap measure and stayed there until 1993 as the 321's had technical faults.I believe it was a fleet of 5 307s that ran following electrification of the Doncaster to Leeds line until the 3 321/9s were ready for traffic. Could be one of the TFW examples perhaps319002 is also at Loughborough. Wonder why though as this one was not earmarked to be converted, unless its going to GWR
Which ones were the 3xpress units as I'm sure some had a bad area
According to the latest Railway magazine the so far confirmed sets for 769 conversion are:
Northern: 424/431/434/442/448/450/456/458
TFW: 002/003/006/007/008
GWR: 422/423/425/427/428/430/432/435/436/437/438/439/440/443/445/447/449/452/459.
001 will be the Hydrogen Flex and 454 an innovation train
Using those numbers that leaves 52 units as standard 319s most of these at Northern or LNW these being 7 /0s (004/005/009/010/011/012/013), 7 /2s (214-220) 26 /3s (361-386) and 12 /4s (421/426/429/433/441/444/446/451/453/455/457/460)
I thought that 769000 at long marston is really 319426 in northern colours so it's surprising to see no mention of that one in the northern list.

Thanks a lot for that, have updated the list to show this information. Would have thought it's just 319/4's being converted to 769.
Hopefully the remaining 319/2's will end up at Southern to help increase capacity on Metro services
Surely you mean 319458?
From what I can make out, most of the units that aren't going from store to a new TOC as a 769 aren't PRM modded.
001, 004, 009-011, 372, 373, 451, and 453-455 never received the modifications to operate beyond 2020.
002 and 008 seem to have been temporarily allocated (perhaps erroneously) to LNWR, possibly to "run in" before heading to Wales.
I can't for the life of me remember if 372 is due to be a long-term member of Northern's fleet, though I know 373 is only being used for short term cover. No idea why 421's being kept back.
Surely you mean 319458?
Thanks for sharing this.
TfW have ordered another four units recently, so presumably these will be further 319/0s.
AIUI, there are 4 319/2s (all PRM-compliant) currently stored - 319214 seems to be on the return road at the moment, being at Crewe LNWR, and 217-219 are still unspoken for at Long Marston. Thanks a lot for that, have updated the list to show this information. Did the Class 319's have CCTV during their Thameslink days? Looking through my photos of the interiors it seems that the 319/0's and 319/2's didn't have CCTV fitted?
So now they will have 17 in total instead of 13?Thanks for sharing this.
