Sorry I don't want to 'teach grandmother to suck eggs' but I assume you realise that there is a difference between booked paths and actual running.:|

I am finding these will be used for several days at a time and then not used for a short period of time, in other words it can be erratic.

They are hugely erratic as to when they run. Try searching out 5C92, 5N93, 5C82, 5N95, 5C96 and 5N98, I think they are all of the test paths.

Relevant bit being

Following the consultation of a Vehicle Change proposal TPE has obtained rights to operate
Class 350s for driver training. This driver training is currently being undertaken with the
use of a Class 350/2 hired from London Midland. The delivery of the first Class 350/4 is
expected in early November with testing/commissioning required before they enter service.
Right for testing/commissioning are not conferred by TPE’s existing rights. This
supplemental agreement introduces rights to operate test trains and provides for an
incentive based on Schedule 4&8.

The testing/commissioning runs under this contract will operate principally on the West
Coast Mainline between 2300 and 0400 on 11th – 15th, 18th – 23rd, 28th – 30th November
and 7th December. The paths will originate from either Crewe LNWR or Ardwick depots and
travel to Carnforth before making a return trip between Preston - Carnforth and returning
to depot. These testing/ commissioning runs are designed to prove that the newly build
rolling stock is compatible with the Network and to ensure that each unit meets the
acceptance criteria for reliable operation set out in the Manufacturing and Supply
Agreement. Recovery arrangements are in place which will limit any impact on service
should a service fail.

Chat Moss is meant to be turned on the weekend of 23/24 November last I heard, so they may end up coming out of Crewe.

They now have their own class 350 for training purposes so that will explain that. Waited a long time for your first post! Welcome!

Yep, TPE training is now taking place with 350401.

They have been using 350231 for at least 2 weeks and the unit is currently stabled in Pitt Street sidings at Preston. 350401 to my knowledge hasn't been used on the crew training trips but has been seen on test at Preston.
