Love that last shot there especially! :)

Not many 387s to go now, should be filling my book most significantly when I get down there in just over 2 weeks :D

Thanks. Rather unplanned last minute but it worked.

Should be few more units out when you visit.

Saw 387 126 and 387 127 heading south through Wandsworth Town today about 13:30 today - not the first place I'd expect to see one.

Delivery run for them fresh off comissioning.

All being well aye, although I'll be quite happy if I get plenty of 319 action on my trips to/from Elstree and Borehamwood on my London bash!

The 319s are pretty much going as soon as. Lets not forget Northern isn't supposed to have its 20 units until July. Also you need to allow four weeks between being released and going off route as required by the ITT. Also that GTR us hiring three 319s back to cover the fleet while 6x 319 are technically Southeastern's and loaned back to Thameslink in exchange for 377s.

What spare 319s? All the off lease ones are taken. And they cannot be used on Coastway as you need 6 car trains in peak.

Thank You. No spare 319's was the answer I expected. I did mean replace the 377s on the Coast lines not 313s to release the 377s to lengthen a few London trains that are massively overcrowded due to LBG works. It all loops round. Or are 377/3 still working on the coast, last time I was down I only saw /1 & /4s?

Good to see 387's getting out - 124 was leading my train this morning. 126/7 passed me at West Brompton last week on a test run as well.

The 19 313s were a total replacement for the 377/3s on the Coast lines. Though am I right in saying 377 allocations are different at the weekend?

I saw 387126 & 127 yesterday at Clapham Junction on Test

Not a test but going to Lovers Walk after finishing commissioning.

387128 is now being dragged as part of 7X33 17+12 Derby Litchurch Lane to Old Dalby.

Path booked to do the same tomorrow at 14+53 Derby Litchurch Lane to Old Dalby

Why did 127 need to go back to Derby? Or does this always happen?

Looks like most of the Bedford to Three Bridges runs will be 319's although I recall someone stating that all BML trains would be 377/387 later this year but that doesn't seem to include Three Bridges services.

I think they mean Brighton trains rather than trains running on BML. Can't have the poor folk south of Three Bridges suffering such an abysmal standard of rolling stock.

I was thinking that with the two on commissioning (or are they now running spares) that means at least 20 of the 387s are now available for service. Add to that 125-127 which might be commissioned already as well. That leaves only six (128-129 and then 101-104) to be delivered ?.

It won't be long before we are awaiting the first of the 387/2s. Seems these 387s have gone rather quickly and smoothly into service (there, now I have said it !).

From Monday, you get 17x 319, 5x 377 and 7x 387 trips to Three Bridges all day. This has been a sigifcant increase for the Electrostars compared to last set ofdiagrams. There is still a lot more diagrams still to come yet.

As for someone stating all BML trains would be Electrostars, believe you've confused GTR statement of most of the Bedford to Brighton service group being Electrostars.

Nothing is on commissioning currently. 23 have completed commissioning (105-127). 110/111 are out of the operational fleet for Depot commissioning works. 126/127 only arrived last week so haven't been put into service yet. Both will be ready this week. That gives 21 units for 18 diagrams.

104/128 are at Old Dalby for testing. 101/102/103/129 are still at Derby.

First 387/2 is supposed to be ready for service in October. First unit build doesn't happen until May.

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but is there any intention to run 387s as 12-car sets, or will they remain as 8s throughout their stay on TL?

There are not many twelve car services so I suspect there *might* never be a case of 387s doing it. Might be left to the 377/5s (& 377/2s ?) that currently do all of the twelve car services from what I have seen. I could be wrong though.

I was told when I asked the same question by the knowledgable insides on this forum that as the 387s are replacing 319s which don't run twelve car formations, then there is none planned at the present time.

Thanks for info - 126 was in service this morning on my train - nice new train smell

Last Friday night, 1W69 from Bedford to Brighton ran as a 12.387!

I presume a farewell party will be in place when the 319s run to brighton for the last time?

Of the 319s to be cascaded so far, we have 20 units allocated to Northern and 7 to LM to replace the 321s bound for ScotRail. This leaves 59 available but I don't imagine we will see much more of a cascade until the Thameslink Class 700 fleet comes into service.

The last thread for a general-purpose Thameslink cascade 'brainstorm' was indeed a while back, if there is any more you would like to discuss I suggest splitting into a new topic :)

LM getting 7. Didn't know they was gettin some. Thought it was Northern and Great western

Aye it'll be a strange sight on a future London bash when there's no 319s running. They've been a key part of many trips in the London area for so long during my time in the hobby it's going to take some adjusting to. No more London Bridge to East Croydon trips on 319s soon, going to be weird.

Still, life goes on and I shall enjoy the memories when the time comes. It goes without saying a trip on a 319 is mandatory when I go to London next week!

Is there a date as to when the last class 319 will run on a Thameslink service?

Those without a home... Where will they be stored?

I understand a certain number will remain on the wimbledon loop and three bridges services (?) as well as those needed to release 377s to southeastern

June 2018.

Can't find the online document but the last 319 is planned for 2017. Only units running around on Thameslink in 2018 are 387s and 700s.

Govia has publicly stated Thameslink fleet replaced to be completed by the end of 2017.

That is unless of course the plan has changed (and Bald Rich is normally the first to know).

That said some change to the announced plan is already planned.

319s will initially be stored in the new Cricklewood Sidings as had already been happening.

No 319 is staying on Thameslink services but it's the ROSCOs job to look after the fleet after they are off lease. The transfer of 377s to SE is in addition to the removal of all 319, 377 and 387s from Thameslink duties.
