Fair, though I’m surprised that Geoff didn’t write any additional captions during editing. To be fair, when the video was filmed nothing had been confirmed publicly.

“Surviving” may be overstating it a bit - more like twitching corpses.I was under the impression that the post-SWR destinations for the threw surviving 483s had been firmed up?
I think they may be better as static displays...“Surviving” may be overstating it a bit - more like twitching corpses.
They're that now.!I think they may be better as static displays...
That’s the same video posted a couple of days ago, and produced a few weeks ago. What makes you think something’s changed today?Looks like it's over the last 1938 stock ran today.
they have been running (one train anyway) again today...
But by going by current form who knows what will happen tomorrow.Yep, it was looking rather dicey given the low temperatures but it does look like they'll get through to the end - alas with the Island now in Tier 4, and justifiably so, there'll be few around to mark it.

This was pointed out a couple of pages back. But yes, good source of info. The Facebook Group Railways of the Isle of Wight seems to be updated by a few who are local.
noticed 007 appears to have its roof and hand rails repainted white, and theyve either cleaned the rest of it very well or re painted it
i thought that was just for today but there where pics from earlier in december with its newly painted roof and hand rails i think
It's just returned from a lengthy overhaul, the paintwork is actually several years old but it's been inside being worked on.
On the other web cam they have just zoomed to The Pier head, I think I counted about 20 people getting off to take photos etc..
A bit off topic, but is there a British Transport Police presence on the island?
Even though it is only a short ride away and I could have squeezed the trip in as part of a shopping trip to the Tesco above Ryde, I have given it a miss. The possibility of too many people milling about was more than I was prepared to risk, and I am normal fairly relaxed about the distancing situation.
I expect that people will still be saying that even when the 484s have been back and forth a few times, it comes up that often......while another seems to think that they won't fit through the Ryde tunnel (evidently unaware of the fact that these things are checked and planned in advance).
*sigh*
