Notwithstanding though, that the loco that hauls the 507s to Newport will very likely run back light diesel to either Derby or Leicester anyway, so could relatively easily run as a class 5 as a class 0 Subject to a bit of planning of course.

The danger would be 507001 getting too near the mincing machine and being chobbled in error. Wouldn't be the first time a preserved item would be scrapped in error

Looks like 001 along with 029 Leave merseyrail this Thursday according to RTT, let’s see what happens

507001 was separated by the class 37 on Thursday ready for Friday's loading of allelys.
Big thanks to the 507 groups help and Allelys for some co ordination help in seeing the procedures before they left Newport docks to redditch in record time.

Thanks for the update. Yes they seemed to make good time on Friday in spite of the challenging weather.

Do you know if anybody from the 507 group was able to salvage spare parts from 029, or were they all focused on preparation of 001’s onward movement?

029 was indeed stripped of some spares too.

Im pretty sure i saw on the website Thursday 30th, i cant seem to find it again now

Great gathering announcement should be Thursday 30th January for tickets,pendo also appearing this week at derby

Virtual queue now. Stated at estimated wait time 4 minutes. Then went to 57 minutes.

Just out of curiosity, does everyone’s tickets have a picture of a pair of locos on? Just being a tad paranoid after talk online of scammers.

Worth you posing the question on the forum thread about the event and the ticketing for it:

Alstom derby great gathering 1st-3rd August 2025

Despite having the day above, I'm expecting a lot of people to read 'Date Event Runs From 01/08 to 03/08/2025' and turn up to the wrong date or all three of them.
