I asked on non urgent TOPs

Just to add it was 37884 and I saw a video at Long Marston showing the cab scntre window of the 37 with a different frame (unpainted shiny). Was that the 37 that suffered a broken window recently ?.
yes I beleive vandalism Stenson junction

I read a little snippet, not sure if it's true but it does make some sense, that the reason units are going back to Gascoigne Wood is that there is insufficient storage space in the Midlands. This will remain the case until Bletchley Depot is complete (why this wasn't done ages ago I don't know) and the 323 leave Soho (where are they going?).
can somebody give me up to date stored 7300s list. I never knew 003 or 011 went to Gascoigne Wood. I thought only 27 left there. MT

Those 2 moved to Gascoigne Wood on 1st October on 5Q16 Crewe CS - Gascoigne Wood with 37884. 5Q63 has ended up in Chaddesden Sidings.

730042 was at Euston on Wednesday, operating the 1154 to Tring.
There are now two off peak diagrams for the 730s off Euston, half an hour apart from each other. If they weren't reformed between Wednesday and Friday ( yesterday ), it would have been 730 014 on the country end.

730 001 + 730 026 was on one of the off peak diagrams yesterday while 730 014 + 730 042 were on the other.

One of the two peak only diagrams was 730 019 + 730 047; I didn't note the other as it was a double dud but I think 730 044 was one of the units in it.

730 205 + 730 220 remain on the back road at Camden while 730 211 is still at Willesden.

I don't believe any 350/2 have gone off lease yet. There were trapped trains in the afternoon so some may have been split to ensure all services run (though the 20:30 off Euston never ran)

Rumours doing the rounds of 3 x 350/2 going off lease tomorrow, maybe someone on here can confirm.

Have you also heard rumours that 350236 went off lease a few weeks ago? The info' I had was that it was definitely moved to Wolverton but only the inference from this that it was off-lease.

350244, 251 and 255 off lease today apparently.

350236 is in Wolverton works having collision repairs.

Yes, 3x 730/0s into traffic tomorrow in the West Midlands. 236 I do not think is off lease yet - there are 2x 350/2s requiring substantial repairs of which 236 is one. That will come back to active service to release the other unit to Wolverton, which will go off lease at that time.

9 in total will be off lease by Dec TT change.

Perhaps there could be a 'countdown of 350/2s' thread like the 323 one; though possibly regret at their disappearance might not be as universal as with the latter :)

With the probability of 730s on the Chase line is there enough room at Soho to accommodate them? Am I correct in thinking that the 350s they will replace are not maintained there?

Only 1 Chase diagram tomorrow, starts with 0650 from Rugeley. 2 new diagrams onto the Wolves - Walsall route.

Seems all 730/0 have entered service now. 025 and 034 yesterday (14th), 035 this morning.

Thanks for that. So 730s are 6-car in the off-peak? Will they be (eventually) 9-car in the peak to match 8-car 350s?

They don't need to be as they have a load more standing accommodation and are 24m vehicles.

There is also the issue that 9-730 doesn't fit in platform 10 at Euston.

There probably will be a few pairs running in what are currently 12 car 350 diagrams?
I would have thought that all 8 car 350 diagrams used on Tring/MK services will become be 10 car 730s, otherwise there will be no increase in capacity. At least there should be no more short formed 350s.

A 6 car 730 rake carries as many people as an 8 car 350 rake, albeit with a higher proportion standing - so they probably won't... True, it's no increase in capacity but... time will tell...

The 730/2s will be 5 or 10 car rakes (730/0s can be 6 cars), so probably no increase in standing capacity if they are only 5 cars. Maybe the original plan for 3 sub classes was better after all?

Plan was for the South WCML the 730/0s are only temporary until the five car 730/2s take over. That is unless something has changed ?.
