Maybe not new but the excellent PTS shows 36 out today with 3 each on the Rugeleys and Wolverhamptons.
According to a previous post there are 6 Rugeley and 5 Wolverhampton diagrams so still another 5 to come.
I don’t know whether that’ll be soon or whether they will wait till the Eustons go over to /2s.
As stated before that would only be 33 diagrams for 48 units unless some stay on the Eustons which currently have 8 I believe.
730/233 seems to be the highest number to have left Derby. Are there any earlier ones that have never left?
Will the 350s not do that routes anymore?

Definitely won't be waiting for the /2s as their entry to service has been postponed until 'late 2025'

I’m more thinking of space and reliability. 41/48 seems quite high availability for recent new builds.
And I don’t know how Soho will cope. 22 323s needed but 33 730s and no sign of a new depot at Bescot.

235 was sent to Oxley last week so that’s the highest number I’m aware of. I have 204/209/234/236 yet to leave Litchurch Lane but happy to be corrected.

I spotted a single class 730 out on Cross City this morning. I think it was 730002, but can't remember. Are they suffering from fleet shortages at the moment?

There have been some singles on the Walsall - Wolverhampton end of last week........I had 013 certainly. And also on the Rugeley-International circuit (037)

Cheers

How many of the 33 diagrams will be x2 730s?

My understanding is the 11 cross city will be 2 units and the 11 Wolves and Rugeley singles but could be wrong.
From recollection there were 26 323s as the pool for cross city with 350s for the 11 Wolves/Rugeleys which is why I’m wondering about overnight stabling for 48 730/0s. I appreciate New St and end of line stations may be involved.
I don’t know if or how many 350s stabled at Soho.

Noise! At speed the 730/2's are far from soundproofed with whistling from the doors, window seals and gangways. A number of engineering solutions need to be worked through to try and get the noise down before they are acceptable.

The original order of 36 3 car 730s would have been enough to cover all of the diagrams, so I am not sure why they increased it to 48?

The original plan was for the 3cars to do cross city only, at 6tph, all pairs. I don't know off the top of my head how many extra diagrams are needed to return to 6tph, but I'm going to guess an extra 5 on top of the current 11. So 16 diagrams, with a pair on each, is 32 units from a fleet of 36. Sounds about right.

The plan was subsequently changed, for class 730s to do more west Midlands local services (Rugeley, and Wolverhampton Walsall). From the post above, this is 11 single diagrams (not sure if that quite covers all services on those two routes?), so 32 + 11 is 43 out of 48 units in service.

I noticed for the first time yesterday and today that some units are also carrying London Northwestern logos alongside the West Midlands Railways fleet name on the WMR livery.

On Rgl diagram was 025, 011 and 037 and rest was 350. Only 037 got swapped with 350 from wolves stopper.
Thanks. So that would be 22 cross city, 8 London, 5 Wolves and 3 Rugeley. Just 3 Rugeley short if the info I read was correct. Thought I read some /0s might remain at London even after /2s intro.
Time will tell!

Mornings was 3 at Rgl and 4 on wolves circuit.

Good Evening, Anyone got updated list on the 730s on the Stour valley and Chase Line services please and what diagrams?

I know this thread is 730 related but it will help me work out which ones are still 350s

Thanks in advance.

According to Part Time Spotter 39 730s were out today, Cross City 11 diagrams [22 units], South WCML 4 diagrams [8 units], so must be 9 units on Walsall-Wolves and Rugeley-Birmingham International, these latter two routes requires 11 singles units so just 2 350 diagrammed on here. :) hope this is about right.

730203/5/20 plus 730002/22 at Crewe today. Chaos at rush hour at New Street following a broken down train at Four Oaks.
