Many thanks, very helpful! I couldn't remember exactly what happened as it had been so long.

Was that the first 730/2 passenger service?

(Realtime Trains schedule for 2Q84 1202 Nuneaton to Crewe - Departing on 19th February 2025)
The class 2 moves above are test trains, mileage runs etc not passenger services.

Lots of people have asked this a lot, but does anyone know or have an idea of what route the 730/2s will run first, and what time of this year?

Supposedly Crewe - Euston. Dates are still up in the air, been told December but also late Summer. Hopefully find out something concrete soon.

If it's worth anything, the latest issue (March 2025) of Modern Railways states May. But you're far more in the know than I.

I'm not so sure of that! I can only go off internal updates, passing conversations with exec team and training schedules which constantly change. Others may know far more than me unfortunately

There's one on its way to Rugby with no obvious return journey, so maybe it's going to be stabled at Rugby for a bit.
Interestingly, RTT shows it as
"Pathed as Class 730 EMU
Planned for 110mph max"
whereas most of the regular 730 test runs are pathed as Class 350.

Does anyone know if LNWR have options to purchase further 730s if they decide to run extra WCML services once HS2 opens, or would that need different stock? Happy to open a new thread if it's not just a yes/no answer!

No they don’t. It wouldnt be them deciding to run extra services.

Does anyone have a list of the complete storage locations for the 730/2s. I know 209 and 222 have moved from Doncaster to Gascoigne Wood today. MTIA

Auto Activated but now over 50 minutes late and no departure. UPDATE Has set off 57m late.
Given there is a unit known for it I feel it still has a chance.
The 5Q68 for a 720 from Derby due into Willesden the same time looks less likely.
