That is sad. I shall miss them. I wonder whether anyone else will take them on.Just seen on Facebook that 43239/285/301 have been stood down
There won't be allocations till the day. Also 2nd September is a strike day so unlikely they be running anyway.Hi all
Any idea on the unit allocations for the 30/8/23 to the 2/9/23. Would like to catch one of these before they are retired
And Friday the 1st of September is an even bigger strike in terms of effect on services.2nd September is a strike day so unlikely they be running anyway.
Apologies again - what should the last day of service be for the HSTs?On the last day of service will the last service be 1E63 or 1E73? Apologies of this was asked above.
Mon 18Sep2023.Apologies again - what should the last day of service be for the HSTs?
Well done - I've never seen two at New St together! Another excellent photo.Mon 18Sep2023.
Managed to see two HST's at New St yesterday. I wonder if it will happen next Sunday too.
Sun 27 Aug 2023 at 17:11. Cross Country HST power cars 43357 and 43366 HST 40 are in view at Birmingham New St. 43357 is at the rear of the slightly delayed [1S53] 13:27 Plymouth-Edinburgh. 43366 is awaiting departure at the front of [1V62] the 11:05 Edinburgh-Plymouth. Completely forgot ASLEEF are on strike Friday. And Friday the 1st of September is an even bigger strike in terms of effect on services.
It doesn't usually happen as the normal weekday timetable of two sets working four trains means they only pass once - somewere in Devon.Well done - I've never seen two at New St together! Another excellent photo.
It's not looking brilliant...Sets out today:
43007 (207) + XC02 + 43008 (208) - 1V50 0606 EDB-PLY & 1E63 1527 PLY-LDS.
43303 + XC03 + 43357 - 1V44 0612 LDS-PLY & 1S51 1227 PLY-GLC.
All going well I should be getting 357+303 on 1S51 later!
41035 I believe.43301 and 43285 sandwiching a single XC 41xxx (FO) running from Doncaster Wab to Laira. Operated by ROG.

What's all that about? I find it surprising that with less than three weeks to go Doncaster is still doing work on them.43301 and 43285 sandwiching a single XC 41xxx (FO) running from Doncaster Wab to Laira. Operated by ROG.

43239 was on rear of the 06:06 Edinburgh-Plymouth on Friday gone (with 43303 on front)... take it this must have been its last run?Just seen on Facebook that 43239/285/301 have been stood down
Indeed - it gave me a very pleasant surprise while I was waiting to see the delayed 1V50, leading it by about 10 minutes. I wished I'd brought a camera!43301 and 43285 sandwiching a single XC 41xxx (FO) running from Doncaster Wab to Laira. Operated by ROG.

Yep, 007, XC02 and 008 worked the return set43239 was on rear of the 06:06 Edinburgh-Plymouth on Friday gone (with 43303 on front)... take it this must have been its last run?
(I see from Liam L's post in the thread that a different set worked the return).
Seems that way. 1Z60 is only going as far as Plymouth as well.43303 and 357 are heading back south as 1Z60, no HSTs on V50 or V44 tomorrow now by the looks of things?
220012 allocated to 1V44 0612 from Leeds, 1E63 1527 from Plymouth is allocated 43007/008 with XC02221125 seems to be an early allocation for 1V50/1E63 tomorrow
No driver to bring off 43007 008 from Laira onto 1S51 due to a fatality on Tuesday.so annoying!
going to be stuck on a voyager now ...
what happened yesterday then to mess up the evening northbounds?
