Sorry to say this, but a bunch of people have decided to pull the plug because there seems to be a war in the British BVE camp.

Result:

Everyone stopped their website and people like me who enjoy BVE and have nothing to do with "politics" can no longer download new routes and fantastic trains.

Well done guys, you killed your own and someone else's hobby.

Now, please go to the pub which each other, drink a Pint, and get those websites up and running again.

After all, your not children any more.

That is sad news for every member of the BVE community. As you say, hopefully something can be done to make the downloads available again.

It is a very silly situation, I really have no idea what's happened (and don't want to know!) but I'm sure its pretty petty.

I used to really enjoy BVE, and recently tried to re-install it. Given that the community has apparently been destroyed by the actions of a few - it's a real shame. Some really great content has been lost, and it's sad that some excellent developers have decided to pull the plug. That must have been awful for them after all the effort they put in.

Looks like I may have to get a new PC capable of playing Railworks...

Well, without getting myself in trouble, & not naming names of course, shall we say a small group decided upon themselves to adopt 'bully boy' tactics with regards to trying to regulate the BVE community, & spread vicious rumours about others. The result is a number of websites & forums going under all because of this. Like previously said, very silly & petty situation & squabbling, which could have been avoided. The end result has ruined it for eveyone else. :(

Well, I do sincerely hope I'm wrong, but it looks like we have lost another site, BVE 4 TRAINS. :(

This is why as a developer I remain secular and stick to my little group. We know pleasure does not mix with business but it seem it cannot even mix with hobbies which is quite worrying. I will be keeping my site open and will be releasing a brand new route in a few weeks in the hope to make members realize what they are missing out on,

I think a totally new forum needs to be started with none of the previous admins/moderators no disrespect but I just think things may boil up...

Personal issues should be kept outside BVE4 and beside things shouldn't be allowed to get that personal, its only a FREEWARE Train simulator.

To be frank, The BVE Scene in the uk is a dying breed...Theres far too much fighting and backstabbing, and permission squabling between several of the developers...now this wasnt too bad until certain members of the BVE Community took it upon themselves to act as the King and all of his men...and see that people took their sides in arguments...Think this is bad enough, things have now become extremely personal between developers and thats where the friction has resulted...

I used to be a developer, but walked away from the UK BVE Scene after the reccent developments and arguments, and quite frankly have no desire to return to it again...The whole purpose of it being a free railway simulation game for all to enjoy has deeply been lost, as has the huge amount of effort taken by people to go out and bother to photograph so many various items of rolling stock, adverts and generally the real world to create something that was free...but all of that has now been lost under developer wars...

So in a way, i salute anyone brave enough to remain developing like Jamaal, But overall, uk bve has had its way, had its day...Wether its down to the closeness that BVE has compared to the Pay as you go sims such as Railworks i don't know - ive worked with a couple of MS Train Sim developers and so called BVE developers, But its certainly a sad fallen on its sword ending for UK bve...

Rich you'd might as well re-release them for those who have not played them or I'd be glad to host them for you. Like Andy Thompson has said its very much alive just the forum is now dead.

Sorry Jamaal, but im not in the mood for re-releasing anything anymore...After contacting several developers, i have agreed with Steve, that i am leaving BVE and that rolling stock produced with my images, are not now likely to be re released...The constant and quite frankly stupid permission arguments, have alas also added to the reason why i cannot be bothered anymore...and funnily enough, the two main pushers of these remain...All for working with other developers...As i once said, i work freelance, therefore i make my own decisions, and when people write emails for me, to forward to onto people...that for a start takes the ****...

Since you’ve in part revealed who i am, then ive got this message for the remainder of the bve community...Firstly, im sorry that such a simulation game has become this way, but thanks to the constant and stupid arguments, constantly causing friction in the bve world, im through with it...im sorry for the decent people who have appeared in this area as playing the game, but quite frankly, when ive got enough issues to deal with including that of my college, trying to sort out an apprenticeship somewhere and trying to sort out a job, those are my priorities at the moment and for now on...Ive tried to make this clear to various people that im walking away from BVE, but they just constantly go on...and continue the argument on and on and on...

Quite frankly, a career and my life is far more important than a railway simulation game, and as ive said, im sorry for the decent remaining people like you Jamaal, but not sorry for having to leave in such a way...People need to work together, not trying to be King Of The Land...As it seems to have become! I have to say that with some people, its been a pleasure working with and together, we’ve come up with some pretty decent and highly photorealistic rolling stock - photographing things like what was going to be a Freightliner 66 & Liner Train - Photographing the dam FSA Flat took a good 45 Minutes just to get the most detailed photographs possible, photographing the 97 was pretty different too, and extreme luck that not only was i aloud to photograph it, but where ive been aloud to take photos!...Just a shame that down to the actions of several people, i completely through with it all...

Now if you don't mind me asking MODs, Can you either lock this thread? Ive said my peace, and that’s it...i don’t want anything more to deal with BVE, Ever...

No sorry, we don't lock threads just so you can have the last word. However I don't want to drag the whole BVE argument over here, so keep it civil or the thread will be locked.

It's seriously really sad that members can't put their divides behind them. I will still continue to develop whenever I have the time... If anything I'll see if I can seek permission to host the Routes that are no longer online. Its not fair that people have to miss out because of a few narrow minded individuals. Expect a route from me in the coming weeks...

As I previously said Jamaal, watch this space, something maybe in the pipeline ;)...

Further to my above post, unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond mine & others that were going to be involved in the project, plans have been shelved indefinitely. You can thank certain individuals for our decision, & basically what fgwrich says in his posts further on more or less sums it up. :(

I, & probably the rest of us on here, totally agree with you Jordy. It's certain individuals that circulate the BVE Forums (or what's left of them) causing nothing but arguments & bad taste. Whether they decide to have a say on this thread or not, & more than likely start more arguments, well we'll just have to wait & see, but I wouldn't put it past them.
