Oh good...they ran it before when some cowboy operates whose name escapes me went bust.
Thanks for the info jcollins! For me personally the 66 will be a great loss and I cant see anything even partially replacing a fair chunk of the route anytime soon.
In relation to the Matlock services maybe Derbyshire Connect is the answer for a replacement, although the town services cover relatively short distances the hill en route is very steep and can be proper difficult to walk up especially for elderly with shopping bags etc. There is already a pretty much constant queue of people for taxis in the err bus station at certain points of the day which I suspect will imminently increase without an alternative.
Such a shame all of these services are going, the hourly link between Buxton & Tideswell will be torn apart with the 66 being binned. It will be interesting to see what improvements High Peak can make to the 65 when they take over it fully. Hopefully they may also look at some limited replacement for the 66 too?

Some cancellations have appeared on VOSA:
G & J HOLMES (COACHES) LTD
ERIC W BOWERS COACHES LTD
Cancellations on VOSA do not necessarily indicate that a service has been withdrawn. Another operator may be taking over part or all of the service, or the service may be being re-registered by the same company under another guise - e.g. a transfer from Arriva (NW) to Arriva (Wales). The Derby bus info website suggests that some of these services that you listed may or will be provided in an alternative way.

I believe the 66 may be run by Hulleys. can anyone confirm ?
Judging by post #137, the revised Service 65 Buxton to Sheffield will be run by High Peak with new buses.
Timetable for 65 Sheffield/ Buxton from 29 October 2017 is available from South Yorkshire PTE website, though still not yet up on Derbyshire CC timetables website.

First time Ive ever seen this:
Notes: Sum - Summer: Runs during British Summer Time only, Win - Winter: Runs during Greenwich Mean Time only
Strange thing is its only 15mins later in the summer..
Oh, come on! That requires a degree of intelligence.Derbyshire CC are slashing Sunday bus services on 27/5/18, particularly in the Peak District. One would have thought that they would have waited until the end of the summer.
Looks like G&J Holmes have either lost out big style or decided enough is enough! Credit to Hulleys who are now braving the commercial world in a rural area, see 178 that is now a Bakewell to Bakewell route via Monyash, Middleton and Youlgrave twice a day without apparent subsidy anymore. But on the whole as noted above the superb Peak District network is no more on Sundays, short sighted in my opinion especially during the summer months

The TMS post appeals in every issue of their members' mag for more volunteers as they're constantly struggling to staff the museum and the trams, so I doubt they'd have anyone available to play buses even if the TMS wanted to do so.
Unless you're thinking of offering your services?
