In [thread=146739]this thread[/thread] we got into side discussion about virtual PCs and Howardh said that (s)he can't run virtual XP on a machine with 2GB of RAM.
I've just fired up my Windows 8 installation (the XP one got hosed) and my memory usage went down from 4.4GB to 3.9GB! It went up to 5GB in the end. This suggests that it should be perfectly possible to run a Windows virtual machine in 2GB of RAM (the VirtualBox FAQ says that c 1GB is the minimum). Does anyone else have real-world experience?
