I think you will be! Normally EMR normally 5Z headcodes for training runs.

According to my list on the previous page 7 as off last week. Normally there is a swap at the weekend so the 8th might be going back shortly.

Ok Cheers

Thank you both. Will update the list. @Hairy Bear Love the description of the livery!

People flap so much about these things.

I wouldn’t say that my comment or that of others would be considered as ‘flapping’ but hey ho.

EMT did adopt a relatively neutral scheme and I understand the points about a corporate font but from a business perspective I would have thought EMR would have been quicker to introduce a network-wide identity. Just seems like a rather lacklustre approach.

As I pointed out an approach that is actually the norm rather than an exception on the railway.

43044 has been stripped for spares, 43045 is emergency spare, (highly unlikely to be used) 43089 is being stored temporarily until 43048 is released from EMR at which point both will move to 125 group.

Comments coming out about the standard of the livery. Already bits coming off and stagecoath patches showing through.

My suspicion is that it's been done "on the cheap"
After all, if you're applying a new livery to rolling stock which will only be in service for a couple of years, you aren't going to spend the extra to get really high quality vinyls (or indeed, in this case, to vinyl the whole unit!)

The same has been seen on the WMR units in the outgoing livery - must be Abellio’s way of cutting corners...

Based on the tweeted picture showing the stagecoach livery coming through, it doesn't look like vinyl failure so much as paint being worn off. Presumably the front (at least, yellow section and lower valance) are painted rather than vinyled (vinyling such complex geometry a single colour makes zero sense!) but the prep job (or paint used) was lacking

The lower panels and doors are painted a shade of 'beetroot ' which nearly matches the vinyl colour.
Strange it took so short a time to rub off .

They were painted in two pack paint when they were painted by EMT. Trying to paint over the top of two pack without a proper prep means that the paint often doesn’t “take” properly.

Just a quick one on the Red Powercars.. it seems very apparent to me that not one of the powercars are consistent in livery. Some are missing the front/side stickers, one is missing all stickers, some have two lights, some have three.. has this HST fleet become a scab fleet cobbled together?

I'm pretty sure none of the 170s have gone into brush. In the past wasn't that the path for 15x comeing back from PRM mods?
I’m pretty sure all the 15x EMR are retaining post-2020 have all been done already?

Not sure if it’s been noted already but 222009 is in the outgoing livery.

Thank you for the updates. I have edited the list up the page to reflect this. I have not updated 180110 for now but will do once it is fully completed in the outgoing livery.

180110 is on test today, as 5Z80.
Could be out again tomorrow and Friday?

Tomorrow - same path:

Friday - two trips to Leicester:

What is going to be ‘the livery’ for EMT? All over maroon or (in my opinion) the sleeker, better maroon and silver?

The all over purple is the full livery and is being applied to trains that are staying in the fleet (only the 170s so far along with 222104). The livery with purple at each end of the train (better one) is only temporary for trains that are eventually leaving the fleet.

By the way, since last August the TOC is now EMR.

On it's outgoing fleet eg: 156, 158, 180, 222 the livery will be purple and silver.

The new fleet EMR will be keeping long term eg 170, 360 & 810 will be all over purple.

Hope this helps. :)

The state most of the ex ga 156s are in are shocking. Regardless whether they are planning on getting rid of them in the future the overall cleanliness and appearance is appalling . Not away to invite and impress commuters
