Reportedly Bake Off winner Candice Brown travelled on a Northern Pacer from Stockport to Knutsford a few weeks ago and in the absence of any available seats she sat on the floor under the luggage rack!

What Northern didn't even allow Candice the luxury and opulence of a 150?!

Catching up on the "All The Stations" videos, reminded me that I passed through Manchester Piccadilly and saw Geoff Marshall & Vicki Pope filming on the main concourse.
Think this was the day before the MEN Arena "incident"... :(

I hope the floor wasn't wet, or else she'd end up with a soggy bottom

Stephen Graham on a Kirkby train is the only famous person I've ever had on one of mine. I saw Cillian Murphy in Lime St M&S once though.

On my way to the GBBF yesterday, as my Central line train was waiting to depart from Ealing Broadway, a man an a woman boarded and sat opposite me. No idea who the bloke was but the woman was Lisa Stansfield.

I can assure you I am not Christopher Biggins. He is 54 years older than me!

I don't see him as a frequenter of rail forums either.

All I can claim is Ian Hislop at Salisbury on one of my weekly runs back from Templecombe last year. I was changing units after we'd coupled up looking for a bit of space while he was getting on.

You may not see him as a frequenter of rail forums but whoever the mystery poster is would probably be someone you wouldn't expect to lurk on a rail forum lol

In May 2000 I travelled from central Scotland to London, to see the Delgados at a free show at BBC Maida Vale. At Newcastle, Lauren Laverne boarded and sat diagonally opposite me. This was when she was still in Kenickie, a short-lived, but brilliant band, though just when Lauren's media career was starting; think she did a 'yoof show' on C4. I didn't start chatting to her until we reached the Kings Cross tunnels, as I respected her privacy, especially in an enclosed space. She did hope that I enjoyed the show, which, of course I did. She's the only one of the recent 'BBC 96' that I have seen, never mind spoken to. (Also chatted to her at gigs, later).

The only other one was Geoff Boycott on a Manchester tram going, predictably, to Old Trafford on a test match day.

Cheers

Having been around the world, now hoping to find her baby somewhere en route to Loughton.

To stop this thread drifting, I recall one day on the high level platforms at Portsmouth and Southsea, I had just assisted with the dispatch of a 12 car train to the Harbour and was indeed, at that end of the platform, I turned to go back to the announcers cabin, and nearly tripped over a short woman, as I walked back, I was aware that other members of staff, had their tongues hanging out and their eyes on stalks!! It seems that I had nearly fallen over Linda Lusardi!!!
Not being a "Sun Reader", I had no idea who she was!!!:p

Quite a few over the years.

But if you include the tube one particularly memorable Saturday a good few years back, Joe Brown, Michael Elphick and Carol Vorderman all on the one shortish journey.
(and no none of them were travelling together)!
