Looking on the grand scale of things - of course Glasgow’s population has increased over the past decade - what frequent services could possibly run as single deck?
The 2 seems to operate quite well as single deck. Many buses during peak time can be full, however due to the length of this route passenger loads can be scattered between 2 or 3 buses as they are run so often. This route has always been single decker intended for some reason. I don’t think new deckers were ever bought specifically for this route, of course deckers made it on to these routes because Parkhead had them. Prior to this the 61, 62 and 40 all received the same buses compared with now the 2 has singles and the 61 and 60 share buses almost.
