At one time the scrappers went to Dunsmore in Larkhall but I'm not sure where they go these days.Do we know where most of First’s buses go for scrap?
M8 RecoveryDo we know where most of First’s buses go for scrap?
Just remembered there's a handful of 03 Volvo Presidents and an 02 Trident which are older. The ALX Tridents were decent motors and it's sad to see them go but it's understandable as they are the oldest deckers in the fleet.
FSE and some First companies in England appear to sell scrappers to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade. The Manchester and Yorkshire companies mainly deal with PVS Barnsley. Other scrap dealers known to process First scrap buses are Geoff Ripley Barnsley and Hardwick's, Carlton, Barnsley. I'm sure other member on here can quote other scrap dealers that deal with surplus First buses.Do we know where most of First’s buses go for scrap?
july judging by the adverts on themHow long they been off the road , the ALX 400s?
For the record the Gemini 2 is not going to scrap. That line up is not the scrap pile either. That's some of the VORs.
Still an few ALX400s in service but these will be the next deckers to be leaving the fleet once more stock arrives.
Noticed an ALX400 ( sorry, I couldn't see the number ) on the 46 today as well as 37195. Good to see a posting from SarahDFIG whose previous contributions were most helpful and now missed.
apologies sarah but i did some for the scrapyard not all they were all mixed together in 3 lyeFor the record the Gemini is not going to scrap. That line up is not the scrap pile either. That's some of the VORs.

Anyone know why streetlites appear on the 21 on Sundays? And the 201 branded e300s on 263 , 240 , 255 etc
Seen an E300 on a 240 earlier tbh. Probably just a lot of buses going spare with the frequency drop in some services on a Sunday compared to everything else during the week
Blantyre operates all 240s on a Sunday as Overtown is closed that’s why the E300s are on it. The 21 is to be operated by single deckers on Sundays now.Anyone know why streetlites appear on the 21 on Sundays? And the 201 branded e300s on 263 , 240 , 255 etc
That registration looks like an SPT service, most likely Evening & Sundays, and prob a better freq that Mon-Sat lol.
The X2 is still happening. This 19A is an SPT tender for evenings and SundaysYeah that would definitely make sense. The X2 was a shocking idea
