How did you get from Bescot to The Hawthorns by direct train ? I thought the whole point of this thread was that you had to go from one place to another by direct train ?

Otherwise I could just say "Mornington Crescent" !!!

I think it might be a good idea to go to Wolverhampton (for Wolves) as this has direct trains from Bescot, while Wolverhampton St Georges has direct trams from The Hawthorns via the Midland Metro

Yes of course Barrow (Holker Street) does count - and current holders of the F A Trophy as well !

(My understanding was that any legit forward movement was permitted along any route without reversing. Sorry if I didn't realise it was scheduled workings only. )

Fair enough - Ramsbottom for Ramsbottom United (reached via London Bridge, Thameslink lines, Midland Main Line to Sheffield, then Doncaster, ECML to Edinburgh, Kirknewton, Carstairs South Jct, WCML to Euxton Jct, Bolton, Manchester Victoria, Castleton South Jct (yes I know this bit doesn't have regular passenger services), Heywood, East Lancs Rly to Ramsbottom).
