Considering a move to Memphis
The Hawthorns for .... *drum roll*... The Hawthorns

How did you get from Bescot to The Hawthorns by direct train ? I thought the whole point of this thread was that you had to go from one place to another by direct train ?

Otherwise I could just say "Mornington Crescent" !!!

I think it might be a good idea to go to Wolverhampton (for Wolves) as this has direct trains from Bescot, while Wolverhampton St Georges has direct trams from The Hawthorns via the Midland Metro

A bit further up the WCML we come to Lancaster City (Giant Axe).

And another stadium visible from the station.

Don't know if this will count but we'll take onto Barrow in Furness for Barrow AFC

If it doesn't count. Go back down the WCML to Warrington Bank Quay for Warrington Town AFC (it is walkable, 1/2 hour ish :) )

Yes of course Barrow (Holker Street) does count - and current holders of the F A Trophy as well !

Continuing up the Cumbrian coast we come to another team that was in the Football League many years ago - Workington

Across the Newcastle line to Prudhoe Town FC

Can we go from there to Newcastle and hence to Darlington home of the mighty Darlington FC. Welcome to the Northern Echo Darlington Arena (Formerly known as the Reynolds Arena, the New Stadium, the Williamson Motors Arena, the 96.6 TFM Darlington Arena and the Balfour Webnet Darlington Arena!) All that since 2003!

If only we were still at Feethams - much closer to the station!

Heading south from Sheffield gives us several options. I'm going to take us straight through London and down the Alton branch to Aldershot! (Just because it's the only station I know that's near a league footy ground!)

I'm confused now. How do you get from Sheffield to Aldershot without changing trains (apart from ecs moves to the Mid Hants).

I presume then that this thread is now a free-for -all and you can now go anywhere you like provided it is shown in the OPC Rail Atlas.

Fair enough - Ramsbottom for Ramsbottom United (reached via London Bridge, Thameslink lines, Midland Main Line to Sheffield, then Doncaster, ECML to Edinburgh, Kirknewton, Carstairs South Jct, WCML to Euxton Jct, Bolton, Manchester Victoria, Castleton South Jct (yes I know this bit doesn't have regular passenger services), Heywood, East Lancs Rly to Ramsbottom).:lol::lol:

In which case we could go back to Sheffield (disregarding posts 109 to 115) and start again from there.
